Band1234556 Posted September 12, 2024 Posted September 12, 2024 Predictions for the top 10: 1. Vandergrift 2. Cedar park 3. Vista Ridge 4. Rouse 5. Round rock 6. Westwood 7. Cedar Ridge 8. Lake Travis 9. Leander 10. Westlake Let me know if you have anybody that I missed or your predictions. The shows I have seen so far are Leander, Westwood, Vandergrift, Cedar Park, and Westlake so the rest are based on not really educated guesses, if any of you guys have seen the other shows put a link or describe it or smth. Also, has anybody seen Ctj this year, it should be interesting to see them perform, also I'm really looking forward to the UIL Area D 6A contest, I will make a thread for it once the region contests finish but that is a very fluctuating contest in terms of state qualifiers, for example, cedar ridge in 22 got 3rd at state finals then couldn't even get past area the next year. They are just working on the details right now. 🥰 Also remember this is the most show Leander has ever put on the field for the first contest of the season, so it’s going to look a little rougher than we are used to seeing right now. But things are actually going really well there, and they will get it sewn together nicely in another week of rehearsals! Expand Yes, they have a good reason why things are rough right now. That won’t matter to the judges who will judge the show for what it is. Which is dirty right now. I do see them making nats finals and picking up momentum later this year. Nny14 1 Quote
Popular Post utee94 Posted September 13, 2024 Popular Post Posted September 13, 2024 We just brought out the props for Cedar Park last night at one of our rented-stadium rehearsals at Gupton. They're going to look sharp. The front screens look good too, as far as front screens go. L Parts 1-2 look really good, a lot of new choreography that nobody's seen yet. Part 3 is still cleaning, and I don't think they'll march part 4 at BOA-RR. They usually don't finish installing it until late September. I anticipate a really tough battle for the top 4-5 spots, like last year. Should be a lot of fun for the public to watch! LeanderMomma, Tubalord11 and MikeKyu 3 Quote

As someone who marches with Cedar Park and generally keeps in tabs with the other schools in my district. Leander's design, visuals, and music are actually awesome. Gives huge bluecoats vibes this year, I don't understand why people aren't picking up on that at all. As someone who goes to Cedar Park I obviously want to keep the streak, but if we lose to Leander this year, the disappointment would be a little more minimal. LeanderMomma, utee94 and Bdc22 3 Quote
Oboeish20 Posted September 14, 2024 Posted September 14, 2024 Ok I maybe be wrong, they cleaned a lot up and I think they’ll be ok on Saturday. 7min of almost fully produced show is crazy for the first contest of the season. Bdc22 1 Quote

Popular Post Vandy_Insider Posted September 16, 2024 Popular Post Posted September 16, 2024 PREDICTIONS 1. Vandergrift M/V/GE - I think this is going to be Vandy's year, their performance on Thursday blew me away. Getting a major Secret Word vibe from the ballad and they have cleaned up alot. The whole show just seems so cohesive, in the same style as Spotlight but more grown up. May be slightly biased but I think they are gonna run away with the title here. 2. Rouse (V?) 3. Vista Ridge (M?) 4. Leander (V?) 5. Cedar Park 6. Westwood 7. Round Rock 8. Lake Travis Only Listing 8 because these are the shows I've seen so far! BandFan50, BDC and lost 3 Quote

Tubalord11 Posted September 16, 2024 Posted September 16, 2024 Final Predictions: 1. Vandegrift 2. Rouse 3. Cedar Park 4. Vista Ridge 5. Leander 6. Round Rock 7. Westlake 8. Cedar Ridge 9. Lake Travis 10. Westwood 11. McCallum 12. Hutto --- 13. Liberty Hill 14. Klien Cain I haven't seen enough of these bands to try to predict captions or accurate placements. I truly believe someone other than Vandy could win here. Last two spots are all about quality of performance. Hutto had a really strong showing here last year so that's why I'm basis to have them in, but that's assuming they build of their success from last season, but they have a really rough time. I also wouldn't be surprised to see Cedar Ridge surprise some people. It's hard to accurately place them bc of their wacky season, but they could be as high as 5th imo. I'll be watching from home for this one, can't wait for the weekend! FaultLineBlues and BDC 2 Quote

Popular Post LeanderMomma Posted September 17, 2024 Author Popular Post Posted September 17, 2024 So one of the things I love the most about this competition is that it is truly unpredictable! We always THINK we know who’s going to slay here, but often times we’re completely wrong. Which is FANTASTIC. I am wishing all of the performers best of success on Saturday and I hope you all have the best run of the season so far! It’s always hard to tell how they will do from a competitive standpoint but definitely excited for the first decent sized competition in tx.They really remind me of cedar park pre Covid but that might just be me LeanderMomma 1 Quote

Second in 18 and 19, and this is definitely there best show since 21 imo, and think they will place very well. I’d also say the quality of bands at this comp has improved since Covid as well.
