Granted if they do cut three groups that only leaves two groups not performing a second time, since Gatesville is the only A band attending at minimum they get a guaranteed exhibition performance.

They are only taking 12 bands to finals per the "Daily schedule" on the MFA website.

For sure, was really hoping they’d take everyone. At this point, it’s gonna be a battle between Hutto, McCallum, Liberty Hill and Klein Cain for the last two spots, assuming they 10 finalist here from last season are back in which should happen. I feel Hutto will get in if they build off their amazing season from last year. I’d say McCallum for the other, but they had an interesting last season, not making state or being in the top 3 at area since 2019, so it honestly could be any of the other 3.

There is a minor schedule change as of 8/26. Rouse has moved from the 12:36 PM performance slot to performing first at 10:24 AM, and the lunch break is now a little longer than it was before.

I really feel like they could move all of it earlier, but at least we won't have any crazy 5 AM call times at the band hall this time.

I wonder why Rouse moved up to the first slot? I don't think it will hurt them at all.

They are going to get smaller. Just how the school district is zoned. Vandegrift will be dropping down to 5A in the future.

God it will be so much fun to see how they fair with the other 5A LISD schools, assuming none move up, which could very well happen soon.

Cedar Park is likely to move up, unless/until LISD can build a new high school between CP and Vista Ridge.

Vandegrift is down from a high of around 400 to around 360 and will continue to get smaller as the zoning changes. They’re still plenty huge tho!!

Oh absolutely, anything above like 160 marching is nothing to sneeze at much less 360, and frankly Id love to see the visual demand of a 200 member Vandegrift as even with their large numbers is already insane, it may even do them better come their BOA Nationals year visually🤷‍♂️

That won't happen. High school #7 will be up near Parmer and 2243.

I caught a snippet of Westlake last night, and WOW--they are stunning visually already. They seem, to me, a notch above last year. It appears director changes were what this group needed to push to the next level. I have them as a sleeper pick for top half here, especially with this being so early in the season.

Westlake looks outstanding for so early -- saw the video on another thread! The opening woodwind feature is beautiful, and this show is very engaging. I love how beautiful the sounds are. Vandegrift is off to a great start as well, the drill is so exciting and wow the opening features!! So excited for this season.

Don't current population projections have both Glenn and Rouse exceeding campus capacity and potentially moving into 6A with no HS7, too?
