What a stacked mid-season Texas contest! I could see it being between four or five bands to take home the gold, and between five or six taking home a medal. That said, I do believe this is going to be a Cedar Ridge victory. They had a strong start to the season at BOA Round Rock, and will be looking to build on that success. Dripping Springs, while placing lower than expected at the TMC, did win the San Marcos regional and won’t be going down easy. Timber Creek will be looking to do well here before they travel up to St. Louis next weekend. Westlake is also not one to be underestimated after placing in the top half at the Round Rock regional, and WOW, what a visual feast. James Bowie and M.G. Johnson also had a solid showing at the San Marcos regional. This top half is insane!

I could see Hendrickson sneaking past Johnson. I think they have a much stronger show than the past couple of years. Seven Lakes always presents beautiful productions and we should absolutely see two performances out of them. Aledo has been having a strong season and will also look to do well here. Keller Central missed finals at the Bedford regional but managed to surge into finals at Prosper, so I’ll be looking forward to seeing how they do here at an objectively less competitive contest. Sachse and Burleson Centennial are also both very solid groups that usually score close to one another, and I wouldn’t be surprised to see either group in finals. 

Other groups that could make their way into finals are W.E. Boswell, Hutto, Lakeview Centennial, Midlothian, Summit and Weiss.

Wow, can’t believe this contest is tomorrow. I’m beyond excited to do an exhibition here again, the crowd was amazing my freshmen year and I know it’s gonna be just as great if not better tomorrow! I unfortunately may not be able to make it prelims, you’ll know if I post super early lol, but I’ll be there for at least the first half of finals! Good luck to everyone competing tomorrow, can’t wait hopefully see some of ya’ll perform!!

Had a very long week and needed to get some extra rest, but I can Almost 100% guarantee I’ll be watching all of finals, but I hope everyone whose gone had a great run and those who haven’t performed yet have one!!
