Popular Post Tubalord11 Posted October 20, 2024 Popular Post Posted October 20, 2024 Good morning all! Congratulations to Cedar Ridge on the win!!! 2-4 was definitely tight, as I anticipated they might be, but I didn’t expect as large as a gap between CR and the other 3, but the recaps definitely helped to make sense of everything! Prelims results weren’t anything super shocking, though Aledo being 2nd in visual, talk about a comeback season. They could honestly be top 5 at state this year, crazy good show. Congrats again to everyone who performed yesterday, thanks for coming out to McLane!! lunareclipse18, Miyazuu, NotGodsHornline and 1 other 4 Quote

Although, I probably would've just placed them at 3rd at the end of the night. They've been pretty neck and neck with Bowie since BOA CenTx & TMC but Bowie seems to have improved decently since their CenTx placement. Quote

Congratulations to all the students, staff and parents involved in all the hard work!! Been to many BoA events and the spectatoe logistics in Waco were wack. The stadium is beautiful. But leaving after prelims was dangerous how they funneled so many people thru a tiny gate. They didn't open the second level and seating for the Baylor performance and the awards was just dumb. Couldn't even hear the announcer in the end zone. One concessions open. Those musicians waited in line forever. 50 bucks a head. BoA needs to take a long hard look at treating their spectators(and musicians) better. I have to wonder how much of this was Baylor's choice, especially the seating. Not allowing spectators on the second level meant upselling their dining experience on the second level, by the times finals started I saw parents flocking to the check in area. They had a second concessions booth open but realized it caused people to sit on the away side so they closed it by finals. Which also doesn't make sense as to why that area was closed off. I've seen concert tickets in the Austin area be cheaper than these day passes. I think BOA Waco at McLane could be an incredible experience because it's such a nice area & stadium but alas. Quote

M&G and Seven Lakes actually tied for 6th in prelims so the split was a Top 7/Bottom 5 going into finals. TypicalBandNerd, Tubalord11 and Miyazuu 3 Quote

I stand corrected lol. Just saw the recap that Seven Lakes won the tiebreaker due to GE in prelims. Its also nice to see Moe and Gene do really well here! Jhorn 1 Quote

Yeah, there are an awful lot of Dripping homers and conspiracy theorists on here and other forums. I don't get it. They're great. It's not unusual for a band's scores to fluctuate. They're very comparable to Bowie and Westlake in most areas. Yes, they took first in San Marcos, but does that mean they're destined to place ahead of Bowie and Westlake because of that? 🤣 No. Quote

I was told explicitly by the stadium manager that it was because BOA didn't want to pay to open the upper decks. He said the Baylor Club was "just being nice" by letting people go out and watch from the upper decks. So I think this was a BOA fumble. Miyazuu 1 Quote
