Happy for Aledo! I think this is a much more accurate measure of their show than BOA Bedford was, and it’s more in line with their HEB Marching Contest placement. Excited to see how other BOA Bedford groups place at end-of-season comps!

1A Exhibition - Meridian HS

Cool show.  Love the old-school hats, for some reason I can’t remember what they’re called.

Keller Central HS - good timing on the intro.  Nice opening.  Good woodwind and brass features.  Little F tuning issue in the mellophones.  Great ballad and flugel solo.  Good shape on the flute chromatic line.  Great ensemble sound.  Could use more power on the last big hit.

Sachse HS - good opener.  Double E from the trumpets!  Great low brass sound and sense of timing in Mando.  Excellent small brass ensemble.  Great ballad and soloists.  Great depth on the woodwind feature.  Great ending.

Hendrickson HS - nuts flute/clarinet duo.  Clarinet is like 3 cents sharp though.  Great opening statement.  Woodwind feature died a little in the middle.  Brass feature is crazy.  Great euph solo.  Great power ballad.  Beefy stuff from the hornline.  Sax feet aren’t quite locked in.  Good sax solo except it was 10 cents flat.  Great ending.  Love the narration throughout.

Timber Creek HS - my second viewing.  Let’s see what we’re working with after two weeks.  Solid woodwinds at the beginning.  Nice opener.  Great brass.  Good ballad.  Sax quartet solid.  Rip trumpet double E.  Great closer; more power needed.  MORE!  MORE!

Burleson Centennial HS - drum line is a fan of Kelly Clarkson apparently.  Good repertoire.  Some dirt in the brass.  Whole lot of synth bass and not a lot of brass.  Great flute duo.  Good mellophones at the end there.  Always love a sus9.

Seven Lakes HS - oh my god the power.  Little phasing due to spread in brass.  Again, oh my god the power.  I don’t know what else to say other than oh my god the power.

Moe and Gene Johnson HS - dig the preshow.  Good opening.  Oh my god the Funkytown is awesome.  Dancing queen.  Good articulation at the end; little overuse of the Mars lick.

Yeah saw them at Bedford and knew they’d likely make top half here. Seeing Aledo now makes it no question in my mind that they’re in top half, completely deserved that 🧹 earlier today! Could see them in Top 5.

Aledo HS - also my second viewing.  This is going to be good.  Give me the Danger Zone!  And we’re back in the Danger Zone.  What an opener.  Clean double tonguing.  Great opener.  Great ballad; Thomas Newman tends to do that.  Insane trombone soloist!  Great show tonight!

Hello everyone! I’ve been here all night, sorry for not posting, with some friends tonight. Everyone has been insane. 7L has definitely been my biggest wow, that brass is so loud, and pretty clean, just some minor stuff. Aledo was ridiculously good, they are going to make a big statement at state, that Ben-Cen drum line, WOW!!! MG Johnson was great, super fun show! KC had cleaned a lot and I’m seeing why they made finals last weekend, great sounds. And that Sachse show, give me more!!! Super cool theme, great ensemble sounds!!

Westlake HS - stealing some Vanguard 2016 I see.  Good opening statement.  Trumpets struggling in some triplet passages.  Great volume there.  Good small ensemble.  Still don’t have full control of time in I Hear a Symphony.  Good balance.  Some timing stuff in weird eighth note syncopation.  Great ending.

I'm worried about the potential CR > Bowie bottleneck. CR got some big props to haul off field and Bowie generally lines up their props along the end zone. Hopefully no issues in a couple minutes :")

Cedar Ridge HS - the weirdest color schemes always find their way to Cedar Ridge.  Great stuff.  Opening hit was an out of body experience good lord.  Just great all around.  Ballad great.  Ben Wallfisch’s Flash score getting some love.  I think some dirt at the end, but great performance from front to back!
