Syntop1cc Posted October 28, 2024 Posted October 28, 2024 But then again this is Houston weather we are talking about. It is just as likely that Saturday will be hot and sunny with not a single cloud in the sky. Quote
TheSV-001Gamer Posted October 28, 2024 Posted October 28, 2024 What's the rain date? November 5th? If it is and it actually happens, we might see even crazier results. Quote

Dawson (UIL will eat this up) 3. Dickinson (Just behind Dawson because they play a little less well but look better) 4. Stephen F. Austin (Very effective show but not as refined as it is effective) 5. Clear Brook (Similar story to SFA but less visually effective) 6. Foster (Super hard show, they are going to be a victim of draw time most likely) 7. Shadow Creek (Beautiful show, Huge sound, clean drill, some of the show feels pedestrian) 8. Pasadena Memorial (While their music scores will be lower than this, they look VERY clean and move well) 9. Clear Lake (They sound very good, visual accuracy is inconsistent) 10. Churchill Fulshear (Great production value, execution is not as solid) - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - 11. Clear Falls (Good show, too many moments that hit or miss for me to put them in right now) Expand I mean Dickinson beat Dawson last year so itโs very possible that they beat them again plus there is always time to clean up music and visuals. Personally I would rewatch all the bands to find out the new predictions other than that pearland is most likely going to get 1st again Quote

Syntop1cc Posted October 28, 2024 Posted October 28, 2024 That's what I can't be sure on. Really depends when the rain would start and how bad it is. They don't really clarify what makes them choose between prelims only or backup date. Quote

Popular Post MadHornist Posted October 28, 2024 Popular Post Posted October 28, 2024 I think the biggest rain threat will be over before Saturday. The NWS only has a slight chance of precipitation on Saturday with light accumulation. A bigger concern for me are the predicted southeast winds at 15-25 MPH. Itโs very colorful and entertaining, and with a very large band to back it up. IMHO - They pose the biggest challenge to Pearland for the top spot, provided that they donโt get overconfident in finals, like they did in 2021 when they dropped from second after prelims to sixth overall. MadHornist Posted October 28, 2024 Posted October 28, 2024 Iโm not liking the weather forecast trends. The probability of precipitation has increased to just over 50% on Saturday. The predicted amounts are still not high, but more likely than not it will rain on someoneโs performance. ๐ Itโs too early to have a better feel for timing. The forecast for SE winds at 15-25 MPH hasnโt changed. Quote
youraveragebandkid Posted October 29, 2024 Posted October 29, 2024 So question: if, by any chance, it does rain during the contest Saturday, what will happen? Will it be a prelims-only event or will they reschedule it? Quote
MadHornist Posted October 29, 2024 Posted October 29, 2024 Should conditions warrant, the contest will be paused until officials determine it is safe to resume. If the contest is paused bands will be notified of any adjustments to the schedule. Be advised that if delays are significant enough to prevent the preliminary round and final round from being completed by about midnight, by rule the preliminary round may be declared the final round. Unless conditions are determined by contest officials to be unsafe the contest will continue as scheduled, which includes the possibility of performing in light to moderate rain. lizzard2027 and youraveragebandkid 1 1 Quote
