Everyone always underestimates Southlake Carroll. Look how that turned out. Personally them and Keller were my favorite shows of the night

Congratulations to Coppell, Keller, Timber Creek and Southlake on advancing to state!!! Not any big surprises here, glad to see Central have a strong showing, and some new faces in finals!! I think all of these qualifiers have a real shot at finals both at the SASR and state, gonna be fun to watch and see how they do!! Super happy to see SLC back at state after being 1 out these past couple of years. Congratulations to everyone who competed here yesterday!!

Good showing for Lake Ridge and Trinity I feel. Tough for Keller central to continue to be one away. Haven’t seen Coppell yet but I’m not surprised. Would love to see a video but I know they keep a tight lid on those

Keller Central has become the new Timber Creek in that they are just barely missing out on state year after year.

As a parent of Timber Creek grads, I feel this and remember how my kids felt to be first-out so many times. We know what that tasted like. Hang in there KC - you're climbing every year and your year will come!

From like 2012-2018 Timber Creek was 1 away every single time and even lost a tie breaker in 2018. They definitely went through a lot so glad to see them making state consistently now with breathing room at that!

There is no doubt that all 4 of these bands are very deserving. As an individual sitting in those stands and looking directly at the KC and SLC band as results were called out…SLC should have been happy but not at the expense of another band. Before Keller Central ‘s name was completely called out for 5th place (SLC)  were screaming and jumping up and down. Clearly I am of the old school and believe in respecting the other persons feelings. I am certain this rant will not do a thing but make me feel a bit better. Or perhaps a SLC parent might read and mention to their child. Once again they all deserved kudos for excellent shows and all their hard work.

I don’t think they were celebrating KCs loss but more like there first win in a while, last year they were that last band. 8th and top 7 made it last year

Hello. Thanks for sharing your thoughts. As a SLC parent I can tell you that no disrespect was meant towards KC or any other band at finals. I  think it was a reaction of high school students realizing they made the cut this year.  The last 2 years SLC missed state by 1 slot. We knew it was going to be a fight for that 4th place slot.

Just to clarify, I meant that they were the first out this year and last year they were comfortably in a state qualifying spot after prelims but didn't end up making it after finals.  As others have stated, Timber Creek experienced almost making it for nearly a decade.

SLC Parent who wasn’t at Area to know of this- I do know they kept losing by one place, not to mention 2022 before the tie rule was implemented where they tied with Duncanville, then proceeded to not be selected to go to state. I don’t think they were intending to hurt feelings.
