I thought - of the three 6A that were there, they were clearly above Keller and KC. A few thoughts - Their program has changed so much since HEB -- it doesn't even look like the same program. The finish is really great and adds a ton to the program. Why grey uniforms? The swing flags are amazing. Wouldn't it had a much better GE with covers on grey? 2 seconds left on the clock when they finished - 2!! might want to tighten that up a bit. Its clearly the most ambitious and difficult program they have ever attempted. Like in gymnastics - they are going to get degree of difficulty points that others wont. We will see if they peak at the right time for Area. Cant take anything for granted. Keller's program has great musicality, and to my taste, is a little less "arty" than the last few years (a good thing to me, but what do I know?) They have a lot of strength in their horns. Always worry at the end for them - but the judges seem to love their late improvements year after year - They seem to get beat by TC early and overcome them late in the season. it may be another one of those years. we will see. KC program has also developed as the year has gone on. They are the smallest corps of the three there at region - but they do have a great sound for their size. Their program is recognizable and interesting. The music is approachable and accentuates their strengths. I found is very likeable. Dont sleep on them. If they add something flashy here at the end, they could surprise. I’m curious how you view Keller as a different program. I’m not disagreeing with you, myself and a ton of people are saying this is the “New Keller”, but I’m just wondering on what makes them different for you. Like every year, just have to hope they can clean enough by area. Especially with only 4 or 3 bands advancing to state Ooh I’m very excited to hear their finale part. I liked the portion of the closer they performed at Birdville but I felt like it was definitely missing something, but I’m pretty sure this last piece of the puzzle is what is gonna combine this entire show together! josephbandfan

Not yet, Region 5 is currently having their contest and so far 2 bands got a 2 which was Bowie and Sam Houston. This means if 2 or more band don't get a 1, that will lead to only 7 finalists and 3 to state. This will only add to the intensity of an already bloodbath of an area... So far we're still waiting for the following bands: Arlington Grand Prairie Lake Ridge Lamar Martin (already performed, still awaiting results but 99% it's a 1) South Grand Prairie Tubalord11
Bushpresident
Lamar, SGP, and lake ridge advanced, expecting arlington makes area, 4 bands to state here
BandNerd07
Grand Prairie just received a 2. Arlington is the last band to perform so assuming they get 1's it's pretty much official. It's 10 finalists and 4 to state from this area.

Tubalord11
Can confirm both Arlington and James Martin gots 1’s, should be 4 to state! Gonna wait till after Duncanville to throw out preds but best of luck everyone here preparing for this bloodbath of an area!!! crunchycookie3

Trumpetlovahh
Phew!!! what a bloodbath... As of right now, my 10 finalists are 1. Coppell 2. Bell 3. Keller 4. Haltom 5. Timber Creek 6. Central 7. Carroll Senior 8. Martin 9. Lake Ridge 10. North Crowley? maybe????? don't know enough about the other bands As of right now, Coppell is my only lock for state. Bell, Keller, Haltom, TC, Central, and Carroll Senior will have to fight for the last 3 spots.

I'm thinking Keller and TC will secure spots 2 and 3 with how clean those programs have seemed early season. It looks like that final spot will likely come down to Bell and Carroll--might as well flip a coin! pwjw99

vandi
Gonna take a stab at predictions 1. Coppell (pretty obvious) 2. Timber Creek(scoring crazy high) 3.Keller(I see them cleaning before area) 4.Caroll Senior(very impressed with them at prosper) 5.LD Bell(probably the most difficult show here but yet to be clean) 6.Keller Central(overall good band made finals at prosper over Mckinney bands) 7. Haltom(have yet to see their show just know they did good in mustang) 8.Lake Ridge(Pretty similar to their usual except music, I can see them swapping between 6-8 depending on how much they clean) ABSOLUTELY ZERO CLUE ON THE LAST TWO SPOTS. Im gonna take some random guess and say 9-10 will be bands like Martin, Mansfield, North Crowley, uhhh maybe SGP?? Really not sure with the last two lol. THESE PREDICTIONS WILL LIKELY CHANGE AFTER DUNCANVILLE MARCHING INVITATIONAL.
BlaStoFf22
Except for 1st place, this should be tight... 1-Coppell - duh 2-Timber Creek - They have really upped their game in terms of difficulty, and have so many moments in this show that POP! If they can clean it up they should be comfortably in 2nd. 3- Southlake Carroll - This may be the best design they've had, and just like Timber if they are clean they should advance. 4 - Bell/Keller/Haltom I think the fight for the last spot will be between these three historical programs. Bell may not have the design like last year, but this show is on their home turf, and you know they will be working hard to clean and refine before Area. LD Bell members know how to perform, and in finals it will come down to who has the show of the night. They can do it! Haltom advanced last year for the first time in a long time. They have exceptional teachers and can't be counted out! Their show this year is different for them, but REALLY cool! Look for them to be a dark horse to grab that last spot. In the last year, Keller has lost their legendary head director of nearly 30 years, the marching band director of the last 10 who helped turn them into a power program, their percussion teacher, their 3rd assistant, and their incredible trumpet teacher who also helped the marching band. That would be tough for any program. We'll see how they do at Duncanville this weekend, but their show and musical performance this year just doesn't seem to stack up with what they've done in the past, or the other state-competitive programs. They are probably the favorite among these three to advance, but we shall see.
Baribone07
What happened to timber creek at BOA Waco? they scored near 2.5 points less than they did at dfw

BANDKIDCORE
1. does anyone know what will happen if it rains on Saturday. will the dates change or stay the same? 2. Popular Post Tubalord11
Well, everyone, time to shift our focus to 6A Area!! This area is just insane this year, so many state worthy finals competing for only 4 spots. High quality performances is the name of the game, and it will come down to every last detail. It does suck that it looks like Saturday is gonna have some rain, but hopefully it goes away or isn't to major. Anyways, here's my final predictions for this area: 1. Coppell 2nd. Timber Creek/Keller 3rd. Keller/Timber Creek 4th. Southlake Carroll 5th. LD Bell 6th. Keller Central/Haltom 7th. Haltom/KC 8th. James Martin 9th. Lake Ridge 10th. Boswell/Trinity I do think Bell has state potential, but their show isn't as strong as last years, and the top 4 have already consistently placed ahead of them. The last 3 spots could also shift around a little, but yeah, good luck to everyone competing here, hope everyone has a week of productive rehearsal (regardless of the weather for this week lol)!!
