JWork
The rain as of right now seems like it’s happening. Forecast may change but if it doesn’t and the make up day also gets rained out… what happens then?
SCVanguard
If they choose to go the rain-out date, I don't think they can keep pushing back until they get a dry date.

some random
also… say like 16-17 of the bands get to perform in prelims, meaning there’s a handful that get rained out… they wouldn’t leave those bands out would they? i would assume that they would wait until everybody has had a chance to perform before they announce state qualifiers etc.
BandNerd07
About the rain, they may end up delaying the start of prelims, which would mean the performance times would get pushed back a few hours. I remembered last year at 5A Area F, prelims didn't start til like noon or something and was supposed to start at like 8 or 9. Prelims awards ended up being at like 7 or 8, which meant some bands in prelims performed with pitch black skies, and then finals went all the way until midnight. Area contests have to be completed by midnight, so if that doesn't work they may end up making the contest prelims only, which would mean bands would be certified based on prelims results. But this is interesting as I don't think this has ever happened before, when the original date and the alternate date are rained out. some random

some random
also also… heard they were doing full band retreat at area B this year? i know area C does it, was wondering if that was just a rumor or confirmed to be true
BandNerd07
Here's my go at predicting every band at area this year: 1. Coppell 2. Timber Creek 3. Keller 4. Southlake Carroll 5. LD Bell 6. Keller Central 7. Haltom 8. Lake Ridge 9. Boswell 10. Martin 11. Trinity 12. Mansfield 13. South Grand Prairie 14. Legacy 15. Arlington 16. Weatherford 17. North Crowley 18. Crowley 19. Lamar 20. Cedar Hill

North Crowley 18. Crowley 19. Lamar 20. Cedar Hill I think this is a really good list. Coppell will most definitely win this competition, and I have timber and 2nd and Keller at 3rd due to Keller blooming late in the season (although them beating Waxahachie + Carroll at DMI yesterday was definitely good for them), but they could easily switch to a 2nd Keller and 3rd Timber result at area finals. Although I believe that Southlake will place 4th and take the last qualifying spot (due to their more successful season this year), don’t be surprised if you see Bell taking that 4th place spot. Their season hasn’t been what it was last year, but they are an incredible program who definitely deserves to be in this state conversation for this area. So here’s my top 4: 1. Coppell 2. Timber Creek*/Keller 3. Keller*/Timber Creek 4. Southlake Carroll First Out: LD Bell (* means preferred school for that placement) pwjw99
rouseglazer1
heres my predictions for this area 1. coppell (well yes) 2. timber creek (showed out at boa st. louis representin texas!!) 3. keller 4. ld bell/carroll 5. carroll/ld bell 6. haltom 7. keller central yea this is all i got. watched videos of bell and carroll recently i think if bell really brings it they'll be able to make it. i also dont doubt the possibility of a 4th place tie.. Keller central and Haltom have outstanding shows this year, however they just aren’t at the caliber of the programs up above. Rain or shine (literally), I think those five bands I’ve previously mentioned will take the top 5, and tragically one of those will not be competing at state. some random
anybody have any idea what might happen if saturday and monday both get rained out? i know the UIL has to get involved, but what are the next steps from there? i know they have to have the contest eventually, as this weather will affect area competitions all around texas, and not sending bands to state because of bad weather is simply just not an option, and i don’t think they would do that anyways. vandi
vandi
Luckily, looking at weather forecasts shows that rain doesn't have a high chance until about 3 pm. I believe there are only 3 or 4 bands in the 3pm block? So if those can get finished before it starts raining I would assume finals would just be pushed back, or there would be no finals.
