Correct.  22 out of the 24 6A bands in Area C were rated as Superior in their Region competitions.  They all have advanced to Area C competition in Mesquite on 11/2.  10 will make finals and the top 4 from finals will advance to State competition.

Oh wow i thought it would’ve been 5 spots for state 😬

Sadly, 4 was the most they were going to be able to make under the 5-1 formula....just glad enough bands reached to make it 4 :)

Yikes! Lol but hey at least no more big 3 in our area 🤷🏿‍♂️, before you were basically fighting for 2 spots. So is it 8 bands that could make it to finals or still 10?

There are 24 bands in 6A area C so even if everyone received a 1 there would still be 4. Also yes there will be 10 advancing to finals. If there are 30 bands that advance to area then that’s when 12 will be in finals.

Prediction:

1. Waxahachie

2. Forney

I see 6 bands as the strongest contenders for the other 2 tickets to San Antonio: Duncanville, Rockwall, Sachse, Berkner, Pearce, Lake Highlands.  Could easily be any 2 of those!

Good luck to all of the bands!

Right now I agree with top 2 but then sachse for 3rd and Berkner or Dville for 4th.

we had like 230 last year, but tbf they did get a huge influx of freshman this year

Our program (Horn 160 kids) is expected to grow next year. This year we only have 20 seniors, and I believe a little over 2/3 of the band are freshman and sophomores.

one feeder middle school alone will have 90 kids coming to Horn next year, and we have 3 feeders lol. We will see what happens 🤷🏿‍♂️

Hopefully not too early of a start

I feel bad for the schools like Waxahachie, Richardson, and North Forney who go super early, plus Richardson has an away game the night before in Lake Highlands. Those 3-5 AM call times are gonna suck, plus they will end up having to stay at the competition from like 10 AM until at least 8:45 PM, but realistically more like 10 or 11, assuming they make finals.

But I do feel like runs earlier in the day do end up being cleaner, since the bands aren't tired yet, but after those long days it must suck to do a run late at night too.

At least one of those bands you mentioned will be leaving after their prelims performance to go back to school and returning in time for the announcement of finalists.

^^ most bands that perform in the morning go back to their school afterwards instead of staying the whole day
