Will be interesting to see how they stack up at Duncanville this weekend with another 3 weeks under everyone's belt. D will have multiple 6AC bands so will give them good idea going into Area of where they stand I think! Thebuster07

I don't really know what they would do, but there's only 24 bands in total anyways, so if you were to split it into two, you'd have those two areas talking now only 2 to state, and if I had to guess, I'd be an area with the Frisco schools, so region 24, and then everyone else in another, so there's not really much that can be done here right now anyways unfortunately, just how it's gonna be unless the area starts to grow significantly
BoneGuy4
I don’t have anything to say about 5A Area B but I had no clue there were so many Frisco schools. And all of them are pretty dang good. I didn’t know that many people lived in Frisco. Just crazy to me.

Also, I think we should take into account US Bands Dallas Regionals and how Richardson did there---that showing would def affect area standings. I'll wait until after BOA Waco to decide more---thoughts? Richardson did not have their best run during BOA Waco, their electronics crashed for their front ensemble, vocal soloist, and mic'd marchers. also there seemed to be problems with their tarp. I wouldn't say BOA waco would be a great judge of their actual area placement, plus it's the first time in the program's history going to a BOA regional. I also do agree Berkner seems to not be as strong as last year, though they still have a shot at state.

Their visual is definitely less strong than their music. I found a video of their prelims run from US Bands and I think they might be a strong contender to BOA Waco finals (maybe 11th or 12th if they can really perform a great show.) and depending on their scores this weekend I could predict a high Area placement as well. Their guard director seems to be pretty new to the scene, he only taught at a few schools. From what I've noticed their varsity guard moved down from getting 2nd in Scholastic A champs in 2023 to moving back to Scholastic AA this year after he started teaching in fall of 2023. They have been getting better from what I saw at BOA Waco though.

I personally think that if they can get the details together, they’ll be a strong state contender—but holy moly, that tarp is a logistical nightmare. I think their battery drags their score down as well- it’s too big to be properly clean. Also, I don’t know how much this affects anything, but their uniforms really bring down the production level of the show… who let that one get through? What do you guys think of them this year? Also, if any of y’all saw their prelims run at Waco I’d love your opinion. They seem like a really interesting wild card this year if they continue on their current path. From what I've heard from people in the band, they definitely agree that the tarp is the most difficult part of their show to clean, it also cuts into rehearsal times, having to get time to set it, and put it up in rehearsal. The brass section seems to have been getting better just like they grew last season from what I remember at US Bands Southwestern Championships. Their Mello line during the brass feature is one of my favorites this season. Their guard is mostly freshman this year, seeing how it has doubled since last year, which may be why it is so hard to clean, I will say the dance soloist (and the guy who has the duet with her as they pull the tarp) seem to be very strong performers. Richardson has been consistently pushing out a few really strong guard members every year.

I guess since they haven't been to any comps no one has really gotten any but I would have expected a football game run to post by now. bassclarinetplayer
I have somewhat of a prediction for top 10 bands I want to see at State (note: my list is my own opinion and for some of the schools I list, I have not seen yet) 1. Marcus (a little bit of bias here because I was at Marcus two years ago haha) 2. Hebron (They are really good, from what I have seen) 3. Coppell 4. Flower Mound 5. Lewisville 6. Sachse (i don't know if that is spelled right or not lol) 7. Braswell 8. Guyer (if they do really well and advance) 9. Eaton and 10. Northwest Again, this is my list (I don't know if this will be accurate or not), but good luck to all the 6A bands for Area!

Just a little side note, the Lewisville schools (flomo, marcus, Lewsville and Hebron), as well as the Denton, prosper, Wylie and McKinney schools aren't in this area anymore, they made a new area, area J

For the uniform thing, do you mean how the guard has a mid show uniform change (A few actually) or how they have the thunder stuff on the marcher's uniforms the whole show instead of just the big hit before their closer.
