I feel bad for the schools like Waxahachie, Richardson, and North Forney who go super early, plus Richardson has an away game the night before in Lake Highlands. Those 3-5 AM call times are gonna suck, plus they will end up having to stay at the competition from like 10 AM until at least 8:45 PM, but realistically more like 10 or 11, assuming they make finals.

But I do feel like runs earlier in the day do end up being cleaner, since the bands aren't tired yet, but after those long days it must suck to do a run late at night too.

For birdville we had a game the night before and our call time was 5:00 am. We performed at like 8 am or something wild like that. Very long day only for us to end up second to last 😬

I hope not, Pearce had a 9:15am prelims performance last year and had a call time at the school of 4:15am for rehearsal (it was an extremely exhausting day lol)

The naps on the bus hit hard on those days lol

You have no faith in Tyler Legacy, there is much better than last year. Rockwall should be three

I really enjoyed Tyler legacy's show and yes I agree they are better then last year hopefully they get a higher placement. And the reason I put Rockwall as 5/6 is because of there rating that they had at past comps compared to other highschools in the area.

I just spent Thursday watching all of the bands that have advanced to area and here are my predictions. If you have any comments or questions about these predictions let me know.

1. Forney/Wax                      *Forney most likely*
2. Wax/Forney                     *Wax most likely*
3. Sachse/Dville                   * Sachse most likely*
4. Dville/Sachse                      *Dville most likely*
5. Rockwall/ Lake Highland      *Rockwall most likely*
6. Lake Highland/Rockwall        *Lake Highland most likely*
7. Berkner
8. Pearce
9. North Forney
10. Richardson
11. Royce City
12. Rockwall Heath
13. Mesquite
14. Garland
15. North Garland
16. MacArthur
17. John Horn
18. Irving
19. Tyler Legacy
20. Nimitz
21. Rowlett

I feel like lake highlands has been the least likely band to make state out of RISD, I'm curious what made you put them so high, and also why Pearce and Richardson are below Berkner, Obviously Berkner is doing great but I am pretty sure Pearce would place higher (based on their season so far) but we will see based on how Pearce does at Duncanville tomorrow.

Also from what I've seen, the score North Forney got at US Bands Dallas isn't really indictive of their placement in Area, personally I would have expected (based of their run) that Richardson would have placed above them. Also one of those judges seemed all over the place in finals. Also, Garland is most definitely placing above mesquite from what I've seen in both bands.

Idk where I'd place rockwall, I saw some of their show and it didn't really stand out to me.

I would like to add, Lake highlands did make area finals in area B every year since 2021, but that doesn't automatically mean they would go to state.

that's real

one of my friends is the opener Mello soloist and he told me early season that their opener had like 2 moves but a ton of crazy choreo with not really hard music

I feel like Richardson has the opposite thing going on, they have a (relatively) difficult music book (especially woodwinds), And their drill seems pretty difficult, but they don't have much visual stuff outside of the opener and beginning of the closer.

I should probably send the Region Vid from Richardson I keep forgetting to

I meant to say they didn't perform the end of their show due to time constraints and probably something to do with their tarp. but it has been pretty clean at games from what I saw at the Pearce game

From what I saw at US Bands Dallas, North Forney and Forney both look really good. Sachse's also having a strong season, I love their show theme and the music and visual are both really strong. Not really sure why everyone's placing Pearce so high, but I guess we'll see...

No hate to any of these bands, just wondering.

Pearce was second at Plano East and won the McKinney competition, so I thinks it’s fair to say they’re going to do good here, but we’ll have a better look after the Duncanville comp

1. Forney/Wax                      *Forney most likely*
2. Wax/Forney                     *Wax most likely*
3. Sachse/Dville                   * Sachse most likely*
4. Dville/Sachse                      *Dville most likely*
5. Rockwall/ Lake Highland      *Rockwall most likely*
6. Lake Highland/Rockwall        *Lake Highland most likely*
7. Berkner
8. Pearce
9. North Forney
10. Richardson
11. Royce City
12. Rockwall Heath
13. Mesquite
14. Garland
15. North Garland
16. MacArthur
17. John Horn
18. Irving
19. Tyler Legacy
20. Nimitz
21. Rowlett

adding to this I'm really surprised for some bands this year compared to there previous years like Royce City, Garland, Mesquite, North forney. A few years ago they would get in the 20/30s when the LISD trio was in area c.

Royce City- I saw this show live and wow the percussion is amazing I like how they start the show with the ripples and especially there closer is amazing I could really feel the energy that they are giving and will def look out for them in finals next year.

Garland- I also saw this live and I really enjoyed there opener were they have a woodwind and a brass split and especially the hit I feel like garland is really underrated and will be a threat to area c in a few years.

Mesquite- I really have no words to described how much they have improved I really enjoyed there opener which is the same opener from Hebron 2021. Solid percussion, really loved there woodwind feature and brass feature. From getting last place in area 2 years ago I really think they will make it to the top 10 in the next couple of years.

North forney- Amazing show reminds me of cedar park 2021 very well played with the brass and woodwinds love the brass feature and also the quintet at the end. I love the energy they give during the ballad and for sure making finals this year and will sure make state in the future

3. Rockwall

4. Duncanville

5. Sachse

6. North Forney

7. JJ Pearce

8. Berkner

9. Garland

10. Rockwall Heath

11. Lake Highlands

12. Richardson

13. Royse City

14. Rowlett

15. North Garland

16. Tyler Legacy

17. Mesquite

18. John Horn

Rockwall, Duncanville, and Sachse are going to be in very close competition for 3-5, and I have a feeling that Rockwall will shock a lot of people
