Based on previous predictions and scores throughout the season I agree... it's a split but random within the group of 5.  I know Dville was tied with someone for 2nd after prelims. Haven't seen any others post. I teach at Dville and am a Hachie resident and band alum...

I was actually thinking it was Sachse that tied with y’all and I was right yall been the closest to Sachse and they go back and forth with yall during contest

I'm always biased toward Hachie and expected them to be ranked 1 despite going 2nd.  Today's Dville show was the cleanest I've seen from them. As long as those three hold strong it will be a battle between Rockwall/Forney for the 4th spot!

Finals result surprised with rowlett!!

It’s crazy how Tyler Legacy’s scoring is so polarized! 2 judges ranked them at 9 (!), and another at 19. I think the overall prelim score of 14 was fair. They should be proud with how far they’ve come in just one year under new leadership and growing pains.

If they take the critique in and apply it, there may be underdog potential coming from the east.

What happened with garland they had beaten 2 of the area finalists and now they're bottom 4 at area???

That’s what I don’t understand either. I thought our John Horn run was really good

Do you think that’s right? That’s almost personal, and I’m not even from Forney.

certainly feels personal, i hope they look at it cause im appalled. the directors probably talked about it already so hopefully it gets fixed cause thats certainly uncharacteristic. (im an alumni of forney)

P.worosello and J.Pruitt must’ve didn’t like how good forney is

there was a judge last year (not saying what comp we were at) who scored us somewhat low cause we werent selling the point correctly. safe to say we turned it up for finals, no doubt they’ll do that again this year.

Poor Royse City they tied back in 2021 for a chance at state and then tied for 10th this year and lost a spot in finals to judges preference.. never hear much about Royse City but they are building a good program out there.

Not the charters for a 20 min ride 🫢

sorry for the late response but since both forney schools had to be here with both schools having 7 regular school busses for the band, they needed the regular school busses for the bus routes in forney!☺️

As with all UIL contests, I don’t expect much to change within the Top 4. So here are my final predictions for finals.

1. Waxahachie (without a doubt taking #1)

2. Duncanville (a bit cleaner marching wise than Sachse/music was improved compared to prelims)

3. Sachse (I think the band was hyped on excitement which might have effected the performance particularly the marching compared to prelims/music was solid)

4. Rockwall (The band overall is good. The content and design seemed to be pushing against the band)

Great performances from all bands. However, I do think the prelims Top 4 will remain the same with changes between 2 & 3. I could be be wrong lol. I’m open to being wrong. Just my opinion.

Thats a state worthy performance from Sachse right there!! Been super strong all season long, love the troopers opener, such a rich and dark sound from the low brass going into the opening hit!! Mando theme is played so well, making a basic piece so complex with the WW and brass technical runs, each note clearly being heard. Great use of the Yellowstone theme for the ballad. Visually very clean, great work from the soloists all around, guard was on point as well, great job Sachse!!
