Dvilleโs score makes sense as much as I was hoping they could get a 2nd or 3rd place finish. Being tied with Sachse in prelims and Forney not having any outlier scores in finals, that 3-4 range is as reasonable as it gets and spot on with what most people predicted for them. Additionally some might disagree but I thought Dvilles morning run was slightly cleaner and more controlled similar to how Waxahachie had a better run in the morning. As far as Sachse, winning Area just to go first at state is pretty brutal. Wish there was a rule where Area champions have a better shot at more favorable time slots at state. I feel like thatโd be a pretty nice perk to being Area champion. utee94 1 Quote

Although, I also believe that their morning run was ever so slightly more visually appealing. I do think Sachse being placed first above Forney in finals is surprising to me! I felt as though Sachse sacrificed musical tone for volume at times.. although it's hard to deny that their musical ability is quite good. So proud of those kiddos from both schools though. (Also, first at state... should be interesting to say the least ๐ ) Quote

Give the Area champion their choice of available slots already assigned to that Area throughout the sessions at State, and then all other Area participants are randomly assigned to the remaining slots. Also, CONGRATULATIONS TO SASCHE ON GETTING 1ST!!!! They really deserved it, great job! Quote

Popular Post G1GyattGirl Posted November 6, 2024 Popular Post Posted November 6, 2024 As someone from Rockwall. I just wanted to say one thing in this forum about them. We killed it. We absolutely killed it this season. School history was made with this show and we will keep writing history until thereโs nothing left to write. As a senior who had the same thing happen to her during her freshman year (one placement off from state) itโs a bittersweet full circle. I appreciate everything this band has done for each other, some of the best community Iโve been apart of, and I may just be a random guard member to everyone in my band but in reality I am so dedicated and so invested in how this band succeeds and I canโt wait to sit back, relax, and watch the next generation of our colorguard, band, and people grow. bringthetreble Posted November 6, 2024 Posted November 6, 2024 Super proud of all the hard working kids at this comp! I feel soooo bad for some really good bands like Garland and North Forney that had to preform earlier.. makes me wonder what the odds would've been if they were later! Nonetheless, the results don't lie. WOOHOO to Sachse! And also.. Mesquite being 16th right under north! I knew they improved but not this much! Area C never fails to surprise me!!! bringthetreble Posted November 6, 2024 Posted November 6, 2024 Also, Rockwall Heath making 10th just broke my heart! I had so much hope for them this season!!!!! Not to mention FORNEY?? That 5-6A transition was diabolical and never seen before. What an amazing band with an AMAZING show, absolutely LOVED the clarinet solo at the end. kid killed it. lauren91 and Tubalord11 2 Quote
Popular Post JFNDOWBFAN Posted November 6, 2024 Popular Post Posted November 6, 2024 Ok, my last Area C 24 post, unless drawn back in! Any Waxahachi people here? My 6th grader daughter was worried about the young marcher that tripped, stumbled, and fell pushing a section of your city. My daughter audibly gasped and was worried about you. This girl bravely made it to standline? Stood with head held high despite clearly being upset and probably in pain. Finally hiding under a front ensemble piece until show over. Bless you, know that my daughter prayed for you and hopes your ok and ready for state. Maxophone, utee94, J Jiggle and 3 others 6 Quote

Very curious to see the scores I havenโt seen them, but they are not useful. UIL judges use the numbers loosely just to be able to rank the bands. Some judges will take that number more seriously than others but you have no clue of each judgeโs philosophy. Maxophone 1 Quote
