UIL 5A Area C 2024

So that's 20 bands qualified for area. However, 6 of these bands are military bands: Ennis, Hallsville, Jacksonville, Lufkin, Nacogdoches, and Whitehouse. So that's actually 14 bands attending that march corps style. There will be 10 finalists and 4 to state.

Curious on everyone's predictions for Area.

As the area marching contest slowly arrives this will be prediction on who will advance to the state contest:

1st place North mesquite

2nd Poteet

3rd Kaufman

4th Mt pleasant/ LC

1: North Mesquite

2: Kaufman

3: Mt.Pleasant

I don’t see potent beating Kaufman anytime soon, they haven’t come close yet, I really see them competing for 3rd and I see Kaufman and NM battling for 1st

I truly do believe Poteet can get second place I believe as area gets closer and closer they will start to really try

Right, and anything can happen who knows, for me I’m going off how clean everyone is, and I personally believe that NM and Kaufman are the cleanest from this area I am really excited to see these powerhouses go at it

my predictions for area 
1. North mesquite (although their show is boring, their marching technique is very good. I see them placing 1st at area.)

2 Kaufman (I havent seen them irl, but ive seen their performances on recording and they look great!)

3 HP ( hp has been looking very good this season, i havent seen them in person yet so i dont have many comments on them.)

4 MT pleasant / WM (mt pleasant has been doing great this year, they look very clean.  West mesquite has also been improving very well throughout the season. although mt pleasant beat wm at battle of the spear, i feel like wm can make great improvements before area.) 

5 MT pleasant / WM 
 
6 Poteet ( although at the start of the season they were struggling, they ended up making great improvements. Placed them lower because WM placed higher at MMF but they might be doing better im not sure ill have to check their recent performances out)

7 LC ( i put them below because they are very close but not quite there yet. Hopefully they clean before area this Saturday.)

Im very excited to see how these bands battle it out. Its going to be very competitive this year. these are my predictions for area!

i recently noticed, WM has changed their last set, i went to the game yesterday, up until the last set the looked very clean brass was fine,but the woodwinds were all over the place. They were falling onto of each other. The last set is supposed to be some type of circle? but it looked very messy. I hope they can get it clean before saturday.

my opinion stays relatively the same, I really do believe it’s between Kaufman and North Mesquite for 1st place, they both are clean with their marching and visual, I believe Kaufman has an edge with their music currently, but anything goes. I wish these bands the best

For every 5 bands that get a 1 in a region, they take on to state. However, if a band does military style or decided not to go to area, they still count that bands 1 in terms of how many go to state. For example, if 23 bands in an area get a 1, they take to state, even if only 18 bands show up.
