Poteets band program is very clear about not having their kids talk and worry about any other band. It’s clear what school hasn’t been taught sportsmanship and it isn’t Poteet. And no, there was no judge who was an ex poteet staff member. If anyone bothered to look they would have seen that.

Some of you have never read the rule book or have been educated on the rules and it shows. Stop with the former staff member rumors. Breathe/relax/reflect/and move forward it's over and the results are what they are. I was a music educator in Texas for 10 years before life took me down a different route. I think I know a thing or two about how the system works and rules involved. 

As it pertains to my high school, Mesquite Poteet. Their kids are not allowed on here, never have been allowed, been that way for a very long time. I have known every staff member of my old school since 1997 and I can name them all, the current staff I actually grew up with. 

For the judging aspect, you think area was a little on the crazy side, then wait until you see the chaos of state prelims/finals

For WM and Kaufman you had great years that ended on less than expected notes and that's okay. It happens, ask me about the first SMBC in the dome that was 21yrs ago and I still remember everything about that year lol. The best thing you can do is move forward and next season come out ready to work day 1. But your year IS NOT done, you still have concert/sight reading and region/area/state auditions. 

I do enjoy the fake controversy created for discussions Iike this... happens every year. (Sips tea)

They have a very mature sound. I am excited to see them get cleaner over this next week.

As a ex music educator, can you Clinic John Horn this week? lol I’m just a band parent but I’m already so nervous for them. I want them to have their best run imaginable. 😬😅😱

JHHS will be fine they have been doing great things in that program for years now.

How did West go from 2nd to 6th and Poteet from 5th to 2nd in finals. I feel like theres no way for that dramatic of a jump, even if they did have a better 2nd run.. I also heard rumors about one of the judges being ex poteet staff?

None of those judges were ex poteet staff. Not sure how this got started. I hate what happened to West Mesquite. Their show was great.

Yeah I’m so sorry but Poteet should have not gone through, no less place 2nd.  Even if their music performance was the at much improved, their marching is incredibly dirty. And this is someone who loves the pirate band and wants to be objective.

I just heard the news about everything, I left after prelims and forgot about the competition, I’m looking at the scores, is it me or does it seem like judges were being a bit unfair, I’m so confused, I really did not expect this, why did Kaufman rate so low, their run looks amazing, and why did Poteet get 5th in prelims? They deserve top 3 same with Kaufman, do you have any idea what happened?
