2turle
I might be the only one that notice but, Roma opener this year is the Argyle 2021 opener.

The band pays a composer to write their book and acquire copyright things to ve able to play it. Cedar park's show from last is being played in parts. The top 4as each have a part or two from Belle Mechanique. They also could give cedar park a run for their money. I'm joking but it's awesome to see. I would check it out. utee94

I loved that show, do you have any links for the bands performing it now? I'd love to see it! Last year I saw a youtube video of a band in Ohio or somewhere performing CP's 2022 show Mirror Mirror in its entirety, and it was so much fun seeing a different take on it, and I was also happy to see it get new life and live on. It was a great show and deserved further viewing and enjoyment. The composer/arranger retained the rights to those shows, and sells them in whole or in part to other bands. It's definitely not against the rules and it's a good way for bands to minimize their costs, by buying premade shows rather than having a brand new one designed from scratch. Evan VanDoren has designed multiple award-winning shows for CP, Rouse, Wakeland, and many other high school marching bands. https://www.evanvandoren.com/marchingbandshows/#Portfolio|all|

All depending on the band, rights, etc. I have heard an opener from when I was in school be played by one band or another every few years since that. Farmersville also has wakelands ballad from last year. I highly recommend watching those two shows they're both really fun and great shows to watch. Both can be found on YouTube if the name of the band is searched. Although they are pretty old runs and those bands have gotten significantly better over the past few weeks Panther Creek marching and Farmersville Marching Band utee94

missie
I have high hopes about the bands this year, and I'm super excited to see richland made it, they are not very well known or popular, but their show last year was amazing, and I think they have a chance of making finals at state if they put in a ton of work. I also hope aledo makes it this year, they had a rough run last year, but they have improved greatly. Burleson is great as usual, and will most likely advance. Popular Post CDLune VA
I won’t be surprised if Cedar Park wins again, but I think it would be cool to see Rouse take 1st place, especially considering that they are more than capable of it. If I’m being completely honest, last year’s state results were quite the upset. Rouse had been one step ahead that entire season, and it looked like they had the state title right at their fingertips. 2023 is probably one of their strongest, if not their strongest year ever for marching band. I haven’t yet seen their show for this year, but I bet it’s fantastic. (Side note: To clarify, I’m not glazing my own band here. I didn’t go to Rouse, or any Leander school for that matter. I’m just a huge marching band nerd.) Asaiah, BaritoneBallah and DrumLine

While I really do want Rouse to take 1st just because they've worked so incredibly hard all of last year (they came so close) and this year. CP has won State for years now, I think it would be cool to see a new champion. However I think CP will take the win again this year. They've had 7 state champion titles in a row. They're not letting that go. Excited to see how it goes though for sure! Asaiah

They currently have the most champions out of any texas band. They're coming for that 5a title very very soon. It only took them 2 years to make state at the 5a level which is ridiculous. Personally, the best tecas band just because of the quality and how competitive they have at any class they have been in. They adapt so fast. While I do completely agree that Argyle Is a very good band, and they do adapt quickly. I do think that the top two spots are pretty locked in for this year, and probably even more years to come. While there may be some threats such as Wakeland, or Arglye, Rouse and CP are on a different level. They have the 6A competitiveness, but both are 5A. They both also compete with the top schools even the 6A schools. Not saying Arglye does not, but I think Rouse and CP will keep their game up. With the addition of more schools, 5A Area B will soon be sending five schools to state, not four. So anything is possible.
