BassoonPadwan Posted September 12, 2006 Posted September 12, 2006 Does anybody have any suggestions of shows I could listen to that have good bassoon amplification? The only one I know of is James Bowie 2004. This would help me a lot, thanks. Quote
aaron067 Posted September 12, 2006 Posted September 12, 2006 Westfield has had several amplified bassoon solos: '03 was Dead Elvis and '99 was the Rite of Spring. I recall Mesquite opening with Lonely Beach in '01 with an All-State bassoonist, but I'm not sure if you'll be able to find a recording of that. I'm sure there are plenty of other tonally characteristic bassoon features in marching shows, but I'm not familiar enough with past contest shows from bands statewide. Why do you ask? Quote

Skippy Posted October 31, 2006 Posted October 31, 2006 Hey, it's the only cool woodwind instrument, besides bari (and bass and contrabass) sax. Quote
