Have there been shows without solos?

My band is doing a show without any musical solos at all this year (there's some guard solos). Just wondering exactly how common that is, we've been doing classical shows for the past few years so we've always had solos, it just strikes me as weird

No solos in our show last year.

I've seen quite a few shows without solos...most of them, however, usually have a section feature to replace it. Last year we didn't have any solos, but we have one this year during our ballad-type thing. We have different section features again this year.

Last year our show had a trumpet solo, but this year nobody has a solo. But instead of solos we have quite a few woodwind/brass features in this year's show

And at the beginning of our ballad a double reed quartet (2 oboes, an English Horn, and a basson) is playing, amplified with microphones so that we can actually hear them

hmmm. yeah...thinking about it there's been solos in our show every year i've been in high school. and then some...

i FINALLY get a flute solo this year, but i'd like to see our show without one

i think this is one of the first years we might not have a woodwind solo

We Have 2 solos in our last movement...a trumpet solo, and a sax/trombone solo....when i say that both the trombones and sax's have the solo written out...for now were compeating for it....wonder who gets it at the end -hopes its me- lol

What?!?!? Everyone knows a show without a solo is like a baby with no soul.

We got a Alto sax solo (which I play) and a flute solo in ours... it's the first time we've had woodwind solos in awile.

It's quite common for a show not to have solos. They generally have solos for the prodigies out there.

For the first time in forever [haha], we do NOT have a flute solo! Oh my goodness. It excites me, heehee.

 

We only have one solo feature this year, to my knowledge, which is a clarinet solo....pretty cool stuff actually, it sounds so cool.

 

We have quite a few section features, though. Especially an amazingly awesome sax feature. Look out for it.
