QuadraticBeats Posted September 14, 2006 Posted September 14, 2006 11 bands have been registered. Does anyone else know if their band (if they aren't already officially registered) is attending? The lowish looking attendance is making me sad. Quote
Danpod Posted September 14, 2006 Posted September 14, 2006 I'm curious as to what judging system will be used for the contest. Quote
euro_euph06 Posted September 14, 2006 Posted September 14, 2006 Do not forget that this is their first year to host a marching event. They have obtained a very accomplished panel of judges. The contest is also on the same day as a BOA Regional Event. Anyways, I am pretty sure that the number will be higher than that. Quote

QuadraticBeats Posted September 14, 2006 Author Posted September 14, 2006 I had noted the high level judges... where did your directors find these guys? Oh, and btw- nice BD Godfather tribute there. Quote
Moose Posted September 15, 2006 Posted September 15, 2006 Seguin High School is going, I don't think they are on the list yet. Quote
euphtone06 Posted September 15, 2006 Posted September 15, 2006 Since Reagan's director is judging this contest I would assume they are not going to Boa Arlington now? Quote

That really doesn't have to mean anything. The Assistant Directors are perfectly capable of handling the band at Arlington. Quote
PrideOfPearland Posted September 17, 2006 Posted September 17, 2006 Fred Vollmar is also a drill writer- just thought i'd through that in there Quote
G'townPIT Posted September 18, 2006 Posted September 18, 2006 So will each band give one performance and that's it? Or are there prelims and then 5 bands for finals or something like that? Is there a list of bands attending? Quote
euro_euph06 Posted September 18, 2006 Posted September 18, 2006 There will be more bands to attend (says my sources). It is a prelims/finals contest with very great adjudicators for it. Quote
bored2damax Posted September 18, 2006 Posted September 18, 2006 Im from Seguin and we are going to compete in this competition. It is going to be a prelims and final thing. I dont know who's going to go but my band director told me that there are going to be alot of great bands going. Quote
Band-Chica Posted September 24, 2006 Posted September 24, 2006 I'm from Bryan High, and I know that we're registered and going. I know a few bands that are going, and there are definitely good ones going. Quote

I know that prelims is 12 bands and finals is 12 bands, so more than likely they're mixing it. Here is the prelims schedule. There are seven 5As, four 4As, and one 2A, so I'd also assume that they're doing a best in class as well. Is there anyone from Cedar Park High School that can confirm that? Quote

bored2damax Posted October 4, 2006 Posted October 4, 2006 Men i cant wait till this competition. I think our show is turning out pretty good. If we marched clean, i think that we might do good. Quote
QuadraticBeats Posted October 5, 2006 Author Posted October 5, 2006 Because there's thirteen bands... and 12 finals spots... We've all got to feel sorry for the odd band out to-be. Quote

Um... pretty sure I just looked at the schedule and there are 12 bands and 12 finals spots. CPHS is an exhibition band and thusly isnt ranked or anything. Quote
bored2damax Posted October 5, 2006 Posted October 5, 2006 Its kind of weird how Cedar Park is doing the exhibition twice. Ive never heard of a band doing that before. Well i just found out that we are going to be plying the last 4th of our closer just standing. Quote

It will give them an extra performance under their belt. Quote
actualgirltrombone Posted October 5, 2006 Posted October 5, 2006 They also want it to be just like a regular competition, and not like we're preforming in exhibition. Quote
