2006 Cedar Park Timberwolf Marching Festival

11 bands have been registered. Does anyone else know if their band (if they aren't already officially registered) is attending?

I'm curious as to what judging system will be used for the contest.

Do not forget that this is their first year to host a marching event. They have obtained a very accomplished panel of judges. The contest is also on the same day as a BOA Regional Event. Anyways, I am pretty sure that the number will be higher than that.

Judging Format:

 

Music: 40% (two judges--20% each)

Visual: 30% (two judges--15% each)

General Effect: 20% (one judge)

Percussion: 5% (one judge)

Color Guard: 5% (one judge)

That really doesn't have to mean anything. The Assistant Directors are perfectly capable of handling the band at Arlington.

So will each band give one performance and that's it? Or are there prelims and then 5 bands for finals or something like that? Is there a list of bands attending?

There will be more bands to attend (says my sources). It is a prelims/finals contest with very great adjudicators for it.

Im from Seguin and we are going to compete in this competition. It is going to be a prelims and final thing. I dont know who's going to go but my band director told me that there are going to be alot of great bands going.

I'm from Bryan High, and I know that we're registered and going. I know a few bands that are going, and there are definitely good ones going.

I know that prelims is 12 bands and finals is 12 bands, so more than likely they're mixing it. Here is the prelims schedule. There are seven 5As, four 4As, and one 2A, so I'd also assume that they're doing a best in class as well. Is there anyone from Cedar Park High School that can confirm that?

i feel sorry for Randolph... theyre a good state 2A but... i dont think thats good enough to beat the 4As

Um... pretty sure I just looked at the schedule and there are 12 bands and 12 finals spots. CPHS is an exhibition band and thusly isnt ranked or anything.

Its kind of weird how Cedar Park is doing the exhibition twice. Ive never heard of a band doing that before. Well i just found out that we are going to be plying the last 4th of our closer just standing.

Actually, it is a very smart idea. Why not perform twice? It will give them an extra performance under their belt.

They also want it to be just like a regular competition, and not like we're preforming in exhibition.
