I did not say they placed top half, CyWoods is bottom half as they’re performing first six. I was only congratulating them for making finals despite predictions not having them in.

I was then separately congratulating RR and Leander for breaking into the top half after respective tough placing at Austin. Sorry for the confusion?

Gotcha. Thank you!

Pulling that off as someone dabbling in design is SO challenging.  The buy in plus the product is top notch.  I want to see that in BOA San Antonio finals.

It is corny/cheesey in ALL the right ways, and the kids are killing it!

I’m sending this to the kids. They will be so happy to hear these comments! 😊

Up until the closer, Cedar Ridge's music was giving me some early 2000s Reagan vibes. Everything in that show seemed to melt beautifully into the next section, even with the pauses.

When Cedar Ridge show design hits, it HITS. This year is super enjoyable and I can't wait to see the completed product

Dabbling you say?  What kind of dabbling are we talking here, winds, percussion, visual?  Fellow dabblers(me) would be happy to give you feedback!

Vandy getting last slot again is crazy lucky. I think they were last slot for BOA RR aswell.

It's not good luck. It's traditional in most marching contests outside of UIL that the winner of the previous year's contest goes last.

Actually the previous year’s winner in BOA gets to select their performance time for prelims! Usually it’s most optimal to go last, so bands will 90% of the time select last.

At San Antonio in previous years though for example Hebron has picked to go in the second to last block to have a break before finals.

Vandegrift caught some luck with their finals draw though for sure!
