Finals performance order will be determined by a top 3/bottom 4 split based off of prelims results. 2 bands will advance to the UIL State Marching Contest. Alexander - huge! hype, hype, hype Edinburg - hmmmmm, dunno what I think Los Fresnos - clean, well done Hanna - what happened here? Bville Vets - great, you got this! Things have changed. Thoughts? DeadMascot Posted October 25 Author Share Posted October 25 Yeah, I feel like this Area always has upsets, especially in where bands are placed (i.e. Hanna being slotted towards the bottom last year), but also in who gets into finals in general. Bands are going to be going hard at practice until this competition, so we make see big improvements and changes from bands that we didn't expect. jd1231 Posted October 25 Share Posted October 25 The elephant in the room would probably be JBA, their band has consistently made state for a while (not sure how long the streak is rn). In case you dont know, if two music judges and one visual judge gives a band a 3rd place or better placement, then that band automatically advances to state regardless of their overall placement. Brownsville Vets is not the real deal in my opinion, they’re historically not very good and haven’t placed well at prior contests this season.
