The contest is gonna be here soon! Expand Edinburg pretty strong, I expect good things from them this year. Harlingen was alright, but really good for a band of that size. Maybe that'll be taken into consideration. Hanna was good as always, but I miss that spark from 2021. JBA is still JBA. Big big sound, but uses too many soloists for my liking. Still state worthy show though. United has some of my favorite content and uniforms. Although, it needs to be cleaned. PSJA was okay, didn't stand out to me. Los Fresnos has definitely improved from last year. Hope they move up! Quote

Edinburg - not bad - needs to clean Weslaco - easy, cheesy - learn how to clean straight lines Harlingen - ho hum Los Fresnos - too old school JBA - big, loud, sloppy PSJA - cool idea United - not what it was Bville Vets - not ready for the big league Bville Hanna - always sounds good - always. but.. different visually this year (idk, new director?) Ed North - improvement this year The rest.... nope It's going to be close between four schools for the two spots. I think experience will take it. Flame away. Quote

I was thinking the same overall its between all those bands and no one is a solid spot for state one slip up and one of those great bands might not make it. Quote

Expand I’ve heard Hanna went totally off the rails in terms of production this year and tried something different after not placing well last year. Looks like they have been drilling visual moves a lot this year. With them improving visuals and their sound, good as always, it’s interesting to see where they will place. Quote

Or will there be some new programs to contend with? Several bands are certainly different than last year! What do you think will make the difference? Do you think it's fair that only 2 bands advance? Why does the rest of the state get more? Should any of these 6A's be worried in light of the recent Area G 5A fiasco? Quote

Expand If you don’t think hannas show is at least cool then I don’t know what goes on when watching these bands. Harlingen has been beat by Hanna, Weslaco and Edinburg almost 4 weeks ago when the shows weren’t even close to as clean as pigskin. Vets going to finals is an insanely hot take over LF but we will see in just a couple days. Quote
