if there’s two things i love it’s bassoon and the coppell hs guard so OBVIOUSLY i love their program. the energy to their show is infectious and i found myself bopping in my seat during their trombone feature LMAO

coppell’s guard does a wonderful job keeping up excellence every year! great performers staying on top of some of the more difficult choreo i’ve seen this season

Btw Hebron’s performance was definitely cleaner than when I saw them last in duncanville. I do think a combination of my seating position there and the stadium acoustics made it sound louder/ more intense. I think Sometimes the impression I get from a band’s sound changes depending on these factors

US bands does a pretty good job of posting them on their website soon after the comp, will post them here if they aren't already here by the time their on the website!

so real, also did waxahachie just go? i thought they were supposed to go at 10:15 (at least that’s what’s listed on the website). i wouldn’t be surprised if they did tho since comps usually run behind

Congrats to Hebron on the win! Only taking music and still getting first is crazy. Ik these us bands comps are scored somewhat interestingly but still, Flowermound could surprise some people this weekend, makes everything that much more exciting!!

I saw the bands from beginning to end, and I will say that this was a great group to have the first ever world class event in DFW. In my opinion, AT&T has better acoustics for marching bands than the Alamodome. I think the Alamodome has much more reverb.

Quick Note! Jeff Harper was one of the judges here tonight and (correct me if I’m wrong) will also be a music judge at the 6A State Marching Contest. This could be a different Jeff Harper, but how exciting he will see these bands AGAIN during their prelims performance. I think it could give them a slight edge in the prelims contest!

Really like how this contest just said “ahh screw it I know area is over but what if we just combine bands from Areas B, C, and J as a little appetizer before state and see what happens 😎”

I’m not too well-versed on USBands. From what I’ve heard and seen, UIL and BOA are typically neck and neck in showing close proximity scores. USBands is another beast, but since this is a World Class division, I believe it’s suppose to be comparable to State Level contests. I think the focus with USBands is technique and foundational marching. I believe @Dallas Hobbs or @CosmicLimbo will have a better explanation lol.

USBands might actually be more indicative of what happens at BOA San Antonio this weekend than what happens at 6A UIL State. Mike Anderson, Wayne Dillon, and Mike Stone, who judged visual, music effect, and visual effect at USBands tonight, will be judging at BOA San Antonio this weekend. What captions they will be judging at BOA-SA remain a mystery, but this could be a good sign for Flower Mound (at least relative to Hebron) if any of these men are assigned the GE caption in finals.

Of course, I don't know what the USBands sheets look like. They may be quite different from BOA's. I'm assuming there's decent overlap.

I don’t know the exact scoring format yet but I’d guess the judging criteria must be most similar to BOA since they use the GE caption and these scores imo are appropriate for this time in the season for these groups

I was there as well. Flower Mound blew me away! I reallllyy enjoyed Waxahachie's show too. And oh my goodness Marcus. Such rich sounds from them as always. Excited for this weekend.
