I’ve gotta compliment them on their timing because it seemed No matter what tempo the went at they were rock solid, almost like there was a metronome clicking in their head the whole time! Wylie has this amazing ability to perform like a professional wind ensemble even while on the field. The woodwinds played so delicately in the opener, the brass filled the stadium with their BIG confident sound. Nothing seemed to faze them whether it was the dissonant harmonies in the show, playing in large spreads, those big circles they formed on the field. Professional in every aspect! Like maybe vertical alignment could’ve been more solid in the articulation in some spots but that’s something every band has to deal with at this time of the year. TrumpetRuler11 1 Quote

Thought about trying to get out there for finals but don't think I can make it. I’m a sucker for exposed woodwind runs, especially when they’re very angular (I.e. using scales like the chromatic instead of the major/natural minor). They executed them so tightly and with such intensity that it made the performance very intriguing PSHSMom 1 Quote

Like wow nothing was too hard for them, the double-tonguing throughout the performance, the opening feature, and they did it all with such a resonant sound, it was impressive! a super solid performance by the ensemble Wannabebluecoat, vandi and Band_Daddy 3 Quote

Everyone’s minds were blown by how LOUD the brass was, but don’t let the brass’s big-as-heck sound and mastery over clean, perfectly-timed articulation distract you from the rhythmic integrity demonstrated by the woodwinds, the sonority of the clarinets in the ballad (my god can they project in the low-register), that BEAUTIFUL brass ensemble in the ballad (someone yelled “beautiful!” In the audience lol), and visually, ugh(!), they’re so clean!!! Their forms have so much clarity no matter what they’re marching! Amazing performance! Quote
JFNDOWBFAN Posted October 26, 2024 Posted October 26, 2024 There’s a 17th band that performed before Hebron this morning. Ridgeview, assume that adds one to finals too Quote

Liam Allen Posted October 26, 2024 Posted October 26, 2024 Lake Travis - much improved from BOA Austin. Great sound from all sections. Could use some more confidence going into the flat 2 chord before the last one but other than that great stuff. Quote

I had to break this down cuz there’s so much to compliment lol Music Brass-Omg when i tell you the Duncanville band kids in the stands were LOSING their minds at all of the runs and high notes in the mellos! I think they were D-ville’s Mello section lol Hebron tunes their brass so perfectly and they project so brilliantly like there’s no holes in the sound whatsoever. And my god their multiple-tonguing is sooo fast and they maintain vertical alignment so well regardless of simultaneous visual/environmental demand Woodwinds- Their woodwinds don’t run, they SPRINT! And it’s so clean even in the upper register of their instruments, regardless while they’re stationary or on the move I loved how in the ballad is arranged so that you can hear all of the colors so easily and they blend so perfectly. I was moved! ❤️ Visual For a band this size it’s impressive how they can move so fast with such complex formations and make it all look smooth as butter and maintain uniformity from marcher to marcher. Ugh!😩 this is so nice to hear thank you!! you’re the goat for responding to everyone lmao, i loved seeing the reaction of the duncanville kids during our show. they were the best audience 😸 Dallas Hobbs 1 Quote
