Cy-FairDad
I love the Woodlands Show. It's one of my favorites at the moment! A bit biased since I'm from New Orleans. My son's senior year at CyFair is going great. The kids are loving it and are having a blast. I personally think it's better than last year. Haven't seen Bridgeland. Very interested to see if they have the same UIL based show/formula or if they are pushing a more unique design this year. My son has a video of Cy-Woods and Jordan HS. Huge improvements for both of those programs! Looking to be an exciting year. ruben_f and ChristopherRoden

Tubalord11
Here’s a couple of our Indian bands! I’m LOVING Castle this year! They sound fantastic, love the BD 23 opener, those costumes are sick, and it’s definitely one that could shock some people this season. Avons looking and sounding great as well! Honestly the fact that Hebron has the power to take down an entire football game so that they’re performance gets cut out is crazy to me. Bridgeland looks fab again, haven't heard the music. bet they sound pretty good tho. probably, right? pure eleganza in this drill!! eleganza!! guard still huge, not quiiiite as clean as they were last yr at this time, but i think wind was a factor, rifle toss height seemed weirdly low, like they adjusted it for weather maybe?? cause the spinning phrases still looked open class. both them and cy fair are possibly gettin consistent, late season finals worthy like Pearland, cool to see. Indy, here they come!!! Bridgeland did not do any throws because of the wind .

The show honestly feels like a pretty decent step down in difficulty overall, but considering the dirt they had last year its for the best. Visually it already looks so much better and will be a UIL beast for sure, but Vandegrift will most likely beat them at BOA and the SMBC, unless the rest of the show is up to Vandegrift difficulty with cleaner everything

A lot of symmetry, difficult lines and grids, rotating and meshing at very high tempos. Music is dark, big minor chords. Is that uil or boa, I don’t know. Execution will make or break this year. I think they are aiming very high for grand nats. The difficulty of the show is significantly higher than last year.

If you notice - once competition season is over, they don't care what is posted. They want to keep the surprises for the people in the stands. The show isn't done until the last performance - they don't want a posting of an incomplete show to influence any one - including potential judges. (and if you don't think that judges watch shows online - they do) So yes - they have videos taken down. I don't see how its such a bad thing

Avon fab as always. was wondering what the Russian connection to Piet Mondrian is lol, but think they're just going for the feel of the music. could look a little more Mondriesque methinks but will wait until i see it from a better angle. I don't see how its such a bad thing i understand wanting to keep the element of surprise, and that's fine, we don't need to see the shows before a comp, but the effect on judges is overstated. vandy wins constantly, and their shows are always all over the internet, starting w/ their May camps and continuing throughout the season. a quality show will always be rewarded, even if a judge has already seen it multiple times. Some programs upload every week, some programs keep it hush hush. Some of the programs that never post place lower, and some of the programs that post weekly videos will win the same contest. I dont think its a bad thing. I also dont think you need jump on mine or anyone else's back. I understand your point. Lumberton used to allow videos up until 2015 when another band watched our show and copied some of our formations. Later in the season, they ended up going to State and we did not. So, I see pros and cons with videos being online.
BandDad74
Sorry - I am not trying to jump on anyone's back here at all. I apologize if it came across that way. packwick
Reagan's show, which u can find on Hudl, is WILD!! it's a lil "all over the map" musically but it's super exciting too. HUGE opening statement, then the angel falls, perc gets a lil off-kilter and clunky, humorously, then it's just like pure aggression for several minutes. it's familiar in many ways but also stands out as prob the hardest show Reagan has done in many years. just gotta cleaaaaan.
