We had 12/15 bands advance out of Region 33 last year, this year only 10/15 and the highest we can get to is 27 bands heading to Area. 😢 BandKid08 and gods hornline 2 Quote
gods hornline Posted October 22, 2024 Posted October 22, 2024 Does anyone know if the military marching bands (Kingwood, Cleveland, and Atascocita) will also be attending area F? Quote

Expand They don't. I believe after making a 1 at region they go straight to the State competition. Even though they're not there, their numbers still count towards how many non military bands go to state. gods hornline 1 Quote
BandKid08 Posted October 23, 2024 Author Posted October 23, 2024 We’re approaching scary territory for only 4 bands advancing to state after Klein Collins rating of 2 Quote
BandKid08 Posted October 23, 2024 Author Posted October 23, 2024 No idea. I was shocked. I assume it maybe could have had something to do with field timing and not getting off the field in the 2 minute timeframe but I’m not sure. Quote

homerchap Posted October 23, 2024 Posted October 23, 2024 Looks like Willis got a 2 as well but the others got 1's. So by my count we're right at 25 which means 10 in finals and 5 will make it to state still. Much closer than I expected. Quote
Oboeish20 Posted October 23, 2024 Posted October 23, 2024 Klein Collins got a 2 because they didn’t stop performing until after the 8 min clock ran down. Ninelets and lost 2 Quote

Oboeish20 Posted October 23, 2024 Posted October 23, 2024 FINAL: 22 Bands will compete in Prelims with the top 10 advancing to finals. Finals performance order will be determined by a top 5/bottom 5 split based off of prelims results. 5 bands will advance to the UIL State Marching Contest. Sanif and meow127 2 Quote

seafoodbuffet Posted October 23, 2024 Posted October 23, 2024 wow, crazy how different each area works. For area H the finals draw isn’t conducted till the finalists are determined on contest day. I thought something had changed when I saw your post, but no, it’s just that each area can be quite different. Quote
