i personally think midlothian did a superb job and collyville definitely deserved what they got. every band did fantastic and my personal favorite was lake ridge’s greek/roman show theme. (i think it was lake ridge i’m not sure)

Yes, we definitely saw midlo. They sound great at stand still. Their drill did not have them marching and playing 90% of the time. And when they did, it’s very small step sizes. No choreography at the stand stills either. I wanna see how they sound on the move. Not trashing Midlo at all, this is a public forum after all.

I'm not gonna lie, the fight for the top 3 was really competitive. I really liked Colleyville's shows as well as Midlo. Berkner's double tongue wasn't bad. Also, if you look at last year's scores for Mansfield, the scores were not as high, so that just shows how much all the programs have improved since last season.

I think lake ridge still shoulda took best music though, crazy intense double tonguing that is clear. Glissandos and high notes everywhere. Just a really difficult music book performed well. Colleyville DEFINITELY had the best visual. Their flag work even being in marching band is beautiful.

“not trashing midlo” after absolutely trashing on midlo, it’s still new into the season they probably haven’t finished their show yet

I was originally referring to people’s comments after preliminaries where they were dogging on Midlothian. I was asking those people if they even saw their show this morning. Can’t dog on something you haven’t seen. 
 

obviously, they haven’t learned all of their choreography, but they were one of the few bands to play the entirety of their music from what I saw. It’s early in the season.  I’m sure Midlothian along with all the other bands still have much of their show left to learn.

Definetly isn’t trashing. Even if it is he’s entitled to his own opinion about midlothians show. Some will enjoy some won’t. Nothing to get worked up about.

Interesting results nonetheless. I was really rooting for Timberview to beat Summit but they at least did it in prelims. It really looks like Legacy is taking a big step back this year falling all the way down to 10th. Arlington and SGP did better than I expected and Midlothian winning in prelims caught me off guard too. Crazy results all over at not just this contest, but contests all around. It'll be interesting to see where these bands stand at come area.

Congrats to all the bands! Colleyville just were solid on every aspect with their drill and music, the flag choreo was really beautiful too although there were some stickouts which hurt their guard score i think, midlothian absolutely shocked me on how much they have improved from last year and their music selection is really beautiful. But some pretty noticeable visual mistakes which they will fix, area f state spot will be a heck of a battle…

the Colleyville prelims run felt so much better than the finals run, but according to everyone else the finals was MUCH better.
