😬 .. how many would we need from the other regions to have 5 ..

this is gonna come down to the wire, 13 groups qualified now we just need 12 groups from last 2 regions, 6 each, shouldn't be too hard too do but it is crucial in how area d is going to play out.

Looks like we got 7 from region 8 thats a very good sign although we probably wont be seeing any state qualifiers from that region they have the highest amount of area qualifiers, just need 5 from region 18 and we will get 5 state spots

Coming from the previous years only reagan is a lock, you have to think back to the years prior where Boa competitions mean basically nothing, Dripping springs lost to cedar ridge by 7 places at Austin last year and beat the at area, it really just comes down to who wants it more in these next 2 weeks, good luck to everybody, may the best bands win. Bummer that we are not going to see some bands at Uil SMBC who had a shot at making finals, it is probably harder to make state in this area then it is to make finals at state, are we gonna see all 5 bands from this area in finals??? That would be so cool

It isn't likely that there will be 5 that make it out of 6 from Region 18. My guess is that Bowie, Austin, Drip and Moe & Gene will advance.  I really hope that Del Valle or Atkins gets a 1 so that we have 25 bands at Area D.

Akins should get a 1st division this year. They are much stronger than last year's group.

Also i was looking at last year to back this up, 2 bands from area d made finals, the next 3 out(places 15,16,17) were all from Area D, proving that these bands are all insanely good

cool thanks for clarifying, so stoked to see 5 spots and really cool to see Del Valle making it, if anybody can make it, go to Area d next Saturday, it will be such a great competition and having a big crowd will fire up every single band there

FINAL:

26 Bands will compete in Prelims with the top 10 advancing to finals.

Finals performance order will be determined by a top 5/bottom 5 split based off of prelims results.

5 bands will advance to the UIL State Marching Contest.

Go one more year back (2022) and you would find 4 of 5 were state finalist with the 5th barely missing finals (17th, i believe?). Area D does not send filler bands to state! ;)

There are more than 5 bands here that are state worthy for sure.

Good luck in advance to everyone competing here. I personally think this is the most competitive 6A area this year. Only 5 spots, and honestly, Reagan is currently my only lock. Do I think Cedar Ridge is gonna make it, yes. Is it 100% guaranteed, absolutely not. Every band here is going to be fighting tooth and nail for state, it really is just mind blowing to me how many spots are open for grabs, with so many areas in 6A already having at least 2 or 3 bands that should be locks only only hauling a couple or even one spots left between so many bands, while finals here will be everyone equally competing for each spot. Good luck at there y’all, I’d absolutely be here if I could
