I believe panther creek would be a Lewisville ISD school, unless i'm wrong.

panther creek would also probably be a 5A or 6A if so, because of how much people live in the Lewisville ISD area

Thanks for the replies I was showing some friends Panther Creeks show and saying they have a good chance of winning state this year and they said their a feeder band for Hebron and that's why they're good. 💀

Area A will only have 3 state spots this year. So far 15 bands will advance to Area. The final 2 bands from Region 6 have Regions on Tuesday for a max of 17 bands to Area.

Ended up with 18, got close to 20.  Regions 16 and 22 were kind of a bloodbath.  Riverside is the biggest shocker for me, I've been super impressed with every video I've seen of them this year.  I think they were a better band this year, despite how UIL went.  Sometimes you get a brutal panel and get a ton of 2s.  They'll be back next year.  

Canyon ISD trio and Pecos are all very strong this year again, I hate that someone is going to get left out this year.  Was cool last year seeing all the Area As in either the teens or finals, growth up here has been awesome.  I love seeing area become super competitive.  Andrews has a super fun and visually captivating show this year, Big Spring is always solid, Hereford sounds and looks better than they have in a long time, etc.   Should be a fun contest next week.

Riverside getting a 2 shocked me big time. I too have been enjoying them the last few years and do think they will be back next year.

Someone big is going to miss advancing to State and it could be any of the Canyon ISD bands and/or Pecos.

Area A has grown to be more competitive than what it used to be like. Not at the level of Areas B & C but at around where Area E is.

I'm also excited especially because we will see some new finalists this year and some new medalists. Again region 25 will be the best the state has to offer therefore area c is now the most competitive. I'm excited how area b will hold up against area c this year because area b lost all their bands basically.

even though they did lose their bands, there are a TON of competitive ones, like China Spring, Gatesville, Aubrey, Krum, etc.

Area C is really deep for sure. But Area B may very well take two medals this year. Super strong at the top. 

It’s really as wide open as it’s been in a long, long time.

Yeah well they lost farmersville who is now in area c. I have Farmersville in my top 5 maybe even a silver medal. They aren't too clean right but the progress their making with the absurd show is remarkable. I'm not too sure they will top both sulphur springs and celina at area but maybe one. I do think thanks to how clean their getting and how difficult their show that by state they will surpass both celina and sulphir springs. Now I'm basing that off the constant progress they have been making if they let off they will not do that. But yes area b still has a of great bands from old area b and some of those I think will be our new finalists due to area b always being a bloodbath. State will be interesting this year-

Area A- 3 Bands

Area B- 5 Bands

Area C- 7 Bands

Area D- 6 Bands

Area E- 5 Bands

 

In total, there will be 26 bands at state. Best of luck to all next week at Area!

Yes. If 30 Bands had qualified, then we would have had 12 state finalists

It is possible! I personally believe though that if there isn't, then it will be the first 2 out of finals.

My generalized thoughts on how many from each area will be in finals-

Area A- 1 (or 2)

Area B- 2 (or 3)

Area C- 4 (or 3)

Area D- 1 (or 0)

Area E- 2

My thoughts are that state finals will be composed of area c and area b with a couple of outliers. Area c has celina, sulphur springs and farmersville leading the pack with all those three bands being capable of taking home the medals. Area b has panther creek and china springs leading their pack. However all 7 bands coming from area c are capable of making finals since north lamar and canton will be in the lower half. It's frustrating but at the same time fascinating how some areas can just dominate. It also shows how deep area b is since old area b bands will be making state this year who haven't in a while or ever. And the bands that stayed will be more free to make state. I'm hoping for some new finalists this year and medalists.

Farmersville has been 4A for many years. The get to Area but never seem to make it to State because the 4A Area they are in is just brutal. However, I think their show has a chance. They have won overall 1st in 2 competitions this year and have gotten 2nd in 2 others. The sax solo in the show is very moving and full of emotion.

Their sax soloist is the highlight of that show, he is amazing for sure, and to me, is the best part.
