UIL 6A State Marching Contest 2024 (Nov 11-12)

Recommended Posts

Great showing from CTJ!! Though I don't understand the concept of the show (it's prob just me), they sound fantastic!! Great sounds from the brass in the opener, really big presence. Great work from the brass quartet in the ballad, though it seemed like there were a couple minor timing issues? (prob just me again), great work from the Sprano, really mature sound. Visually very solid, love the callback to 2017/29 in the high brass during the closer. I'm kind of getting a tribute type show feeling but if someone knows please do explain. Regardless of how their season went, I fully expect them to be back on top within a season or two, amazing job CTJ!

idk from what I saw and what others have said this isn't the same performance quality from 1 week ago

Imo was by far much better than this past weekend, you could tell from the performs reactions that it was much better, a lot tighter in the closer and other places where they weren't so much at boa

Says the guy with 12 posts, almost all of which are talking down Vandegrift.

Shockednotshocked.

I don't expect the Vandegrift directors and band to take Saturday's results and roll over - I'd rather win against someone at their best than by default.  If Lewisville bands do indeed sweep UIL I want it to be with everyone giving their best performance.  No one should be able to say " you won, but...". It's just not a good feeling knowing you only won because the other guys f'd up.
