For now im just content with my saxophone though. dude you should totaly learn trumpet. I played the alto sax last year and I decided to learn the trumpet. I started last october and practiced hardcore all through the year and summer and by the time band camp came, I was one of the best trumpets in the band. If you have the drive and dedication to do it, it shouldent take more than 7 months for it to feel like your main instroment. Thats about how long it took me. Quote

stewiemylove Posted September 11, 2005 Posted September 11, 2005 I thought the minimum age was 15.... Anyway. I want to try out for SCV Cymbal line in a year or two, and anyone else that has one.... <3 *wishful thinking* Quote
Skippy Posted September 12, 2005 Posted September 12, 2005 No, there is no age limit. Some of the top-tier corps may say something about not being younger than 15, but that's only a reccomendation, as exceptions can and have been made for those exceptional individuals. Quote
svh1126 Posted September 16, 2005 Posted September 16, 2005 being completely way out of the midwest (live in NY, got to school in DC), my only two plausible options are cadets and crossmen (BAC does camps in FLA). im really hoping to make cadets this year, if not, i think i may invest in the money to go out to madison the next weekend for their auditions. crossmen would be cool, but word on the street in the northeast is they may be relocating? so im skeptical about trying out there. for the guy who marched scouts this year, how do their auditions work? nothing is up on the site yet... AvonTrumpetSL Posted September 22, 2005 Posted September 22, 2005 I auditioned for Carolina Crown in the Winter of '04 and was placed on the Lead Soprano Line, but decided to wait and just do High School Band this year at Avon. Hopefully this coming season try-outs will be as rewarding Quote
Skippy Posted September 22, 2005 Posted September 22, 2005 Aww, dude, you should have done it... Quote
Band Of Champions Posted November 7, 2005 Posted November 7, 2005 I have a friend wanting to try out for the Cavaliers. Quote
stewiemylove Posted November 16, 2005 Posted November 16, 2005 My friend said Vanguard offered him a spot, but he turned 'em down because he was interested in Phantom. He just went to Vanguards local camp for the expierence. Quote
Xukaniz Posted November 16, 2005 Posted November 16, 2005 I will be trying out for the Cavies, not this year though. Hopefully in the 2007-2008 season. Quote
