Personally, I would honestly love to see FLOMO when state. That'd be cool to see, I mean they did win BOASA so it could happen. Although, Vandergrift and Hebron are always up there!

their show was incredibly unique this year! and i'd love to continue to see this type of stuff from FloMo!!

that speaking though, if FloMo has a better show than last year, then they might be able to compete for that championship medal  👀

I loved FloMo's show, absolutely my favorite at UIL 6A.

agreed, it was so unique and not like other Texas shows, of course, all shows are unique in their own way, but this one was just crazy in terms of uniqueness (I guess lol)

I'm just here to get my face figuratively and literally blown off and have to have reconstructive surgery due to the insane power it seems all State qualifiers are putting out these days! 

I would LOVE if anyone had this data / information - but man would it be interesting to do a DB level comparison of the Top 10 at State from back in the day with Marcus and others earning the State title back in the 2000's - early 2010's, versus what is being done now. 

It quite literally has turned into almost DCI level sound output from the top groups around the state, and I'm totally here for it! 🤣

I totally agree I mean these bands who are getting like 12th at state would probably be at least top 5 10-15 years ago.

I mean my god I feel like I'm listening to like Carolina Crown sometimes.

Flower Mound and Vista Ridge have won state before so it wouldn’t be a shocker if they did again.

I wanna say Hebron will win, but I don't think they've been the same level of excellence like they were in 21-23. I could totally see FloMo, Vandy, or Vista take home the gold

Id say based off last year Marcus or Vandy. I think Vandy has a better shot based off their may camp video last year and watching some clips of the state performance. If their freshman class can stay on top of it I could see them dominating state for a while.

I would honestly say a lot of different bands have a shot. I think it would be cool for FLOMO to win. I think the top contenders for state though would be Marcus (Maybe), Hebron and possibly Vandy. Vandy knows how to win state but lost their winning streak in several competitions throughout the 2023-2024 marching seasons. I mean I'm not 100% sure on anything. 

Rouse, a 5a band beat them in 2023 BOA Austin by .15

And Vandy got 5th this year at BOASA.

Vandy is an extremely talented band and I have mad respect for them.

 

I would love to see FLOMO win because of their success at BOASA, I think that would be amazing for them.

 

Marcus, overall solid band, also have extreme respect for them, and could see them winning

 

Hebron.... We all know they're insane.

 

Vista, I think might be able to win, but it could be difficult with Vandy, Hebron, FLOMO and Marcus with them

I totally agree, The NFHS mic's breaking during the 6a state runs was awesome!

 

(Even the top 5a schools are loud, almost as loud if not, slightly louder than some DCI's. I'm talking about Rouse, CP, and Leander lol)
