I’m starting to really like the direction Cy-Springs has taken in terms of show design, they’ve improved a lot as well, and personally I could see them contending for area finals POSSIBLY, this year, more so next year.

5-10 is almost impossible to predict.  I think Cinco, Jordan, and JET are possible for that 5th spot, but in area I anything is POSSIBLE.

I’m guessing it’ll be the same 4 as last year. Unless they have a weaker group/bad shoe design  I don’t see any reason why those 4 wouldn’t advance, pending ofc some other school like CR or Jordon doesn’t have some insane year. I also think 7L will place higher if they build off last year

I think ranking JET over a Jordan or Cyfair is a bit off. I think they could be a top 5 if their show is much more difficult this year. Cyfair is a lock, and to have them not there would be assuming that its a really bad show/run. Katy might be passed by the likes of peatow to. Jordan would be my number 5-4 if they don't get a random judge giving the a 20th in brass and 18th in music that was completely undeserved.

I refuse to give up on my bubble groups for finals, I now hope for langham and cy ranch to make it, Katy might be falling behind a bit unfortunately and it’s sad to see.

heres my attempt at predictions

1. Bridgeland-Cant really see anyone beating them until the new cy fair school opens up 

2-4. cy woods- people thought they were starting to fade but last year they proved they are still one of the best

2-5. cy fair- last year might have been a step back but I'm still confident

2-6. seven - I loved there show last year and seeing them go from 4th in area to finals at state is crazy

3-9. cinco- LEMONS-there show was great last year and barring another disqualification I can see them making state

4-9.JET- been a pretty consistent finalist wonder if they make a push for state this year

4-9 Langham- took big steps last year musically and visually wonder if they make even more this year tied with Tompkins last year and I can see them beating them this year

5-10.Tompkins- Not the best year last year tied for 8th and seeing them move further back

3-10. Jordan- hot take but I was not really a big fan of their show last year came out the gate strong and couldn't finish the season

8-10. Ranch- Did worse than I thought they were going to but not improving must be really frustrating since many thought they were gonna push for state last year.

I'm gonna take my way to early shot at predictions but we'll see how much my mind changes before Area time.

1. Bridgeland

2. 7Lakes

3. Cy-Fair (I'm high on Cy-Fair)

4. Cy-Woods

5. JET

6. Cinco

7. Tompkains

8. Langham

9. Ranch

I'll try to make a top ten with as little bias as possible

1. Bridgeland: As a Cy-Fair marcher, this pains me but it's true. Bridgeland is a powerhouse of a marching band and I don't see them declining any time soon

2. Cy-Fair: This is where my only peice of bias comes in, this placement could really go either way between Fair, Woods, and 7L. Our band has been talking about how they plan to refine the band and I won't reveal anything but I think it might work.

3. Seven Lakes: VERY impressive finish last year, I hadn't thought much of them until I saw their state finals run and knew there was something new in this 7L band. I need to see one more perfomance like that from 7L and they will be challenging Bridgeland for the top spot.

4. Cy-Woods: Brought things back after a dissapointing 2023, Woods has always had potential and I think they've unlocked it. It just turns out 7L did at the exact same time.

5. Cinco Ranch: Let's have a moment of silence for Cinco's 2024 state dreams. I belive that they can do it again but the as this area gets better we'll have to see how they evolve

6. Jordan: Interchangable with Cinco, Jordan has really impressed me these past few years. I originally thought 2024 was going to be their first state trip but it didn't work out that way. Still an amazing and young program.

7. JET: Very consitent band, I think that Jordan and Cinco are going to make the push over them this year.

8. Tompkins: Again, interchangable for 5, 6, or 7. Tompkins shocked the world (area) in 2023 when they got third and made state, then they came back down. They've got serious talent I just need to see more.

9. Cy-Ranch: Cy-Ranch has been a growing threat in area I for a few years, a slow growing one but still growing.

10. Langham Creek: The former kings of the area have fallen far, but they're still coming for that number one spot. LC hd an incredible 2024 and I am fully ready to see what they have in store next year.

Bubble bands in no order: Katy, Paetow, Jersey Village, Cy-Springs.
