Lone Star has improved so much from last season, they’re going in a great direction, really good showing

Other than a couple soloist drops i thought Eaton killed it!! Love the rifle work, if GE scores well they could place well.

Amazing stuff from the last three groups!! Decided I’m gonna save the SO groups for tomorrow and get my first viewing of some of the groups (LE and Emerson especially!) in person. Will be back for SW shortly!!

Definitely think the new ending is more impactful. Will be a statement at Dayton. Those equipment content (and maybe achievement) scores better be in the 99/100 range at WGI finals. Incredible performance

Tons of improvement from Flomo since I last saw them, Austin I think? Either way they have taken some rely big leaps and really think have a strong shot at making semis this year, definitely on an upward trend, amazing job Flomo!!!

Edit:just saw Flomo isn’t going to Dayton, guessing they’re on rotation but either way looking much improved!

They’ll be in college station next weekend before Dayton… 👀 Will I be making a 3 hour drive just to see the show one more time before flying to Dayton? Absolutely!

no huge surprises in the results after prelims. prob the biggest is Katy in 2nd place in SA. they were 17th at Austin three weeks ago w/ a score just below 75. now an 86.44. huuuuge improvement. no indication in the Austin recaps either that they might contend for the top here. it's great tho, bc i think they're also going to Dayton.

Pearland, like i said in the other thread, not really surprised to see em drop a little. i think several other guards, even the ones theyve been beating, have a lil bit more developed vocabularies. no sabre work, for example, is odd for this class, esp the top of the class. as the others get cleaner, not surprised the others climb up. little elm, for example, has a similarly elegant show, but their vocab is clearly more expansive imo.

i would have had Coppell higher. Emerson, i thought their show grips you right away, and had a cool, unique vibe, but i would not have scored them a close 2nd. cy fair was a pleasant surprise. MUCH cleaner. not surprised after watching them that they matched Bowie.

woodlands had an outstanding run. don't know what Flanagan looks like, but def woodlands should be comfortably ahead of the other ones after tomorrow. like i said before, 91+, likely to a 95-96 gold at Dayton. rlly, given the performer talent, they should be higher than that, but the designs/choreo limit them a little imo. not quite the degree of craftsmanship of a "typical" 97+ gold show. kinda have hit a mid-90s wall. unique voice tho. just give me more staging clarity, connectedness, and overall aesthetic appeal. also more intentional looking movement, esp when moving from point A to point B. i still think the coolest upstairs moment in a woodlands show this yr is in the A guard, when the layered flags unspool at the end. so perfect with the swelling of the music. the world show could have used moments like that. like, cool formal "drill" moments.

Really great work from Wakeland to get us started!! I really enjoyed the variety of equipment, a couple minor drops but a really strong run this morning! 

Solid improvement from Hebron this morning! I really like how the flags look against the uniforms, some nice solo moments, great job both!

A bit of a rough run from Celina. Just nervous me think, some really nice moments, loved how they brought performers in and out of the spotlight, just a little dirty but still really solid! 

Choctaw with an amazing performance! Kinda surprised they placed this low, loved the theme, tons of expression from the performers. Soloist we’re on it, especially the man with the flag, really impressed. Great job to both!

Really strong performance from The Colony!! Really loved how they slowly brought it more soloists, the staging was super smart and they were really clean, really loved this one! 

Liberty was much improved this morning!! Kinda what I’m noticing all around, especially the farther we’re getting in. Just tons to offer from this one, and they were very clean. Great job both!!

I’m so happy I was right about Joshua yesterday bc that show was so freaking cool!! They did such a wonderful job of displaying the main character, plenty of solo/duet moments, loved the ending flag work, just so much fun. 

Such a beautiful run from Aledo!! The costumes went really well with the theme, plenty of amazing soloist moments, just super strong all around. Great job both!!

Just such a heartwarming show from Azle! Seeing it in person really shows you they haven’t steeped down at all. There’s just so much talent in this group, and it was showing. Just so much emotion from the performers, and some really challenging equipment work, just wow. 

Mrs Garcia is working wonders at Lovejoy because this is the best their winterguard has been ever!! Such a beautiful show with so much talent, such a smooth flow and tons of equipment variety, just so happy for them. Amazing job to both!!
