I am a sophomore clarinet player looking to become clarinet section leader for my junior year. For my band in CA, I am required to do a leadership project to benefit the band. This goal of these projects is to develop me as a person and help me become a better leader and make the band better. I need ideas for my project so I can start working on it for my leadership application.

This is probably too late, but you could try to do something such as providing lessons to middle schoolers or new players. I'm a guard girl, but also a harpist, so I know a bit about music. Provide them with some basic warm ups, or host an instrument petting zoo! Maybe even try to help people get into music theory! Another thing could be working on a problem specific to your school. For example, my guard doesn't have any sabre guard that aren't broken, so if I was doing a project, I'd probably fundraise for new sabre guards. You could try this, but for like materials your musicians need! Think providing free reeds for beginning band/freshmen, maybe some valve oil, rags to polish instruments with, etc. Good luck with leadership!

This Past summer I completed a Eagle Project that Benefitted my Band, What I did was built "Tuba Rack" these could be most compared to the Wenger tuba racks but I designed and built them from scratch, the ones I built were for King Sousaphones, and Miraphone Concert Tubas. They were built on wheels so you could move them if you have limited spaces in your facilities and are as easy as putting them against a wall and having more appealing storage for tubas. The benefit was that the tuba section didn't have to disassemble and reassemble Sousaphones during the marching season and over created a solution for a very inconvenient problem. If anyone is interested in what I did just DM me and I fully open to sharing my design and how I completed and went through with my Project.
