n3rdu5 Posted October 15, 2006 Posted October 15, 2006 I thought Langham Creek won Outstanding Guard? Maybe I'm wrong. Quote

Serardian Posted October 19, 2006 Posted October 19, 2006 Why has Cypress Falls been placing lower than usual in their contests recently? I know they made finals at Houston, but what's the deal? I've heard the show/music is dirty, but they're running out of cleaning-up time. Quote
Dontforgettobreathe Posted October 22, 2006 Posted October 22, 2006 Cy Falls wasn't even at this competition..... Quote
Serardian Posted October 22, 2006 Posted October 22, 2006 Oh, okay it was the same day as BOA Houston. Whoever's in 9th place must be a typo..I'm assuming Cy-Fair? Quote
n3rdu5 Posted October 22, 2006 Posted October 22, 2006 Are the soloist scores correct? Spring won the Outstanding Soloist award... Quote
Dontforgettobreathe Posted October 22, 2006 Posted October 22, 2006 I thought 9th was Cy-ridge? Who knows. I guess it doesn't really matter anymore. Quote
Guard_Ian Posted October 23, 2006 Posted October 23, 2006 ""Why has Cypress Falls been placing lower than usual in their contests recently? I know they made finals at Houston, but what's the deal? Geiger is working with them and Mitch Rogers has just been in to help out. Things are now much more achievable. The music book was written WAY to hard, it would be hard for anyone to pull that off so things are changing. I think the band will be fine, Finalist at Nats? Who knows, from the list I saw on bands.org, it will be difficult for newcomers to break into the top. I saw the Area E show and they looked 10 times better than they did at BOA Houston. Guard has cleaned up and is on fire. As for them placing lower as usual at competitions. They really haven't been a force at BOA regionals, last year they were 3rd at Houston, other than that they are usually 8-10th at regionals. Whether they place the way people want them to or not, I thoroughly enjoy the show and think it is fantastic. Quote
Serardian Posted October 23, 2006 Posted October 23, 2006 I guess I was just disappointed at their 10th place at Galena Park, and then expected them to fire back at BOA. I'm glad to hear they're cleaner now. With only 3 potentially going from Area E, it should be very competitive between them, Langham Creek, SFA, and Clements. Quote
Guard_Ian Posted October 24, 2006 Posted October 24, 2006 oh WOW only 3? Does that factor in the Katy schools too? or are they in the same region? if that is the case then many good bands will not be seen at state. Quote
fireice426 Posted October 25, 2006 Posted October 25, 2006 I believe that Cy-Springs has an excellent chance at the Area E competition to advance. The show this year is their best ever. I am not sure if Cy-falls has as great a shot this year taking into consideration that they recieved a 1, 2, 1 at UIL. Quote
