This is a LISD thing. Leander has done the same for Cedar Park at a BOA and Cedar Park has done it for Leander.

I've seen the best and worst...

I've seen parents who stand and clap for every band, I've seen parents who clap only for their own, parents who are rude in performances, parents who try to love everything.

 

We're all guilty of this: Criticizing other bands. Their technique, their music, whatever. We all say, "Man, they sound great, but they look like crud." or something to that effect. But we should all save it for later. Or just keep it to yourself.

 

I wish we did was CP and Leander do: Stand at set while announcements are called. That's so classy to me. I've been to competitions where bands scream so loud during finals announcements that you can't hear who else made finals. I've seen groups of people excited and happy that other bands didn't make finals. Be empathetic, I'm sure all of us have had an experience where we either haven't made finals or haven't come in the place we feel we deserve. Think of how that band feels.

 

Always think to yourself, "What kind of legacy to I want to leave behind for this band? What sort of image do I want to give other people of our program?"

At our UIL the Rivera band boosters or parents or w/e they were clapped more for us that our own did! I thought that was pretty cool.

 

When they announced the ratings bassicly every band that got a one screamed as loud as humanly possible and the 2's or 3's bands just kinda sat there in silence after they heard the rating.
