PitStar Posted October 15, 2006 Posted October 15, 2006 I'd say attitude, because our band usually executes well, but like iono what happened recently. Plus, attitude effects playing. Quote
chickora Posted October 15, 2006 Posted October 15, 2006 I think attitude plays a big role because when you have the attitude you tend to be more focused and quite capable giving a good show. Without attitude, how can anyone possibly perform good? Quote
txsweetheart183 Posted October 15, 2006 Posted October 15, 2006 I personally think attitude because everything depends on what your attitude is, including execution. If you have an attitude of "Oh its too hot I don't want to be here" then you most likely are going to have poor execution because you're worried about something else. That's just me, though. Quote
TRtrumpet Posted October 16, 2006 Posted October 16, 2006 I would say attitude too, basicly because of what they said ^. Quote
gavinrh Posted October 19, 2006 Posted October 19, 2006 execution's all that matters. they don't give out first place medals for winning the "attitude" caption. Quote
TX Suh-nare Posted October 19, 2006 Posted October 19, 2006 Attitude. What seperates good marching bands from great ones? Their vibe, their approach, the way the crowd percieves them. The well-known bands have the ability to use that. Some do it better than others, but all the bands you know and love have some way they carry themselves. Quote
Gltokensp06 Posted October 19, 2006 Posted October 19, 2006 It works both ways. Attitude effects execution and in a different sense execution effects attitude. I think that execution is the larger part but attitude is also present. You wont win a competition with attitude alone. There must be substance there. You act as if your the most badass band there and expect to get first. However, if you are on top execution wise, then you are on top in the competition. Along with attitude come emotion, and emoting your show is extremly important but PERFORMING your show is even more important. Quote
barisaxy08 Posted October 19, 2006 Posted October 19, 2006 yeah i must agree...the way u approach rehearsal and your attitude towards it effects how well u execute your stuff when it comes down to competition. If you have the attitude of a champion...then you will go out there and march like a champion, and hopefully you will win like a champion. Attitude is basically what seperates 2nd place bands from 1st place bands...whoever wants it more is gonna work hard for it and take it home. Quote
Lustra.exe Posted October 19, 2006 Posted October 19, 2006 i am going have to say attitude 100%. the difficulty in working with kids that don't care or have behavioral problems is not worth it even if they do have talent. with a group that cares, there is room for improvement. with those who don't, you can only be so good, and at that point it becomes monotonous because there is no will to be better. whitewing09 Posted October 21, 2006 Posted October 21, 2006 deffinitely attitude. most of the people in our band can excute but the ones with the really bad attitudes cant. and since im sooo bored im gonna put this in some easy math terms. attitude = a is the independent variable execution = e is the dependent variable f(a) = e Quote
