Brian Ngo Posted July 4, 2005 Posted July 4, 2005 Has anyone even heard of Langham Creek?? because recently I went to a Drum Major camp in San Antonio and no one there had even heard of us Quote
Clarinot Posted July 4, 2005 Posted July 4, 2005 Yeah I've heard of langham creek- from most BOA tx events... What DM camp did you go to? Quote
Brian Ngo Posted July 4, 2005 Author Posted July 4, 2005 Fred J Miller. There was one in Houston the week before but we wanted to go to San Antonio. It was akward because we had a great concert band program (honor band , midwest, etc.) and we have a good marching band(4th in state and 1 point away from forcing a 3 way tie for second) and not a single person had even heard of us o well I guess we aren't as big as we though we were Quote
Dynasty Posted July 4, 2005 Posted July 4, 2005 Yes, I have heard of Langham Creek too. I was about to upload your 2004 show from the Finals at State. Quote
Xukaniz Posted July 4, 2005 Posted July 4, 2005 I have definitely heard of Langham Creek. Our band competeted against them in 2003(we gott beaten badly) at the North Texas Marching Championship. Langham Creek got 2nd and Duncanville got 1st, though I though Langham Creek deserved it much more. Quote
Will_Doohit Posted July 4, 2005 Posted July 4, 2005 This is probably pretty random, but wow, a State competition in Texas must be crazy. Cause Texas is BIG. Where would you have the State competition, in the middle of the state? Quote
Brian Ngo Posted July 4, 2005 Author Posted July 4, 2005 They used to be at Baylor University but do to the State finals in 2002 when it was 40 degrees outside and pouring rain on a grass field and by the time my school performed (30th out of 31 bands) it was a huge mud pit. But they moved it to the Alamodome in San Antonio, TX Quote

Xukaniz Posted July 4, 2005 Posted July 4, 2005 I am not entirely sure. I know we are doing BOA Arlington and UIL Region as always. We will need another marching competition to round out the year, so my guess is yes. Quote
Tnilli Posted July 5, 2005 Posted July 5, 2005 i think most people in texas know langham creek, mainly because your concert program. Its amazing Quote
smusic Posted July 19, 2005 Posted July 19, 2005 Xukaniz Posted on Jul 4 2005, 10:54 AM I have definitely heard of Langham Creek. I think the judges called the competition correctly. Langham and Duncanville both played very well, but Duncanville did march their butts off. People think that they can't march and that they don't move much, but you could tell they had a ton of sets and they marched really well (and fast). They have my total respect and I just so happen to attend one of their rival high schools, which is also very, very good. Quote
Xenon Posted July 19, 2005 Posted July 19, 2005 Quote I just so happen to attend one of their rival high schools, which is also very, very good. Do you go to PESH? If so, how is Mr. V doing? I remember right after he moved from Duncanville to PESH that every time we would play eachother we would make large "V" signs with our instruments and that his Microphone was always on the same frequency as ours. Good Times... Quote

TX Suh-nare Posted July 20, 2005 Posted July 20, 2005 Heard about that. Some people that fell were browner than a Hershey bar. Quote
arundo Posted July 22, 2005 Posted July 22, 2005 First time I heard of Langham Creek was at State Finals... Quote
Chives Posted August 6, 2005 Posted August 6, 2005 Oh yeah... how could I forget Langham Creek... the band with the worst retreat etiquette ever... *groan* Quote
PrideOfPearland Posted August 6, 2005 Posted August 6, 2005 Oh ya...that band that goes to prelims at SHSU...and then leaves even though they made finals.....or they sign up and then don't show up... Quote
TX Suh-nare Posted August 6, 2005 Posted August 6, 2005 Langham Creek has a good program. Very consistent as far as BOA is concerned. Always up there as one of the big contenders. Aren't they going to Houston? Quote
Keyboard_Countessa Posted August 21, 2005 Posted August 21, 2005 Considering that both of my most recent pit instructors attended Langham Creek, yes, I've heard of it. Quote
MartinHorn Posted November 13, 2005 Posted November 13, 2005 I saw Langham Creek for the first time this year at Duncanville. You guys had an amazing horn line and very good marching. Quote
