umdebaba Posted October 18, 2006 Author Posted October 18, 2006 I gotta say from the shows I saw that night, the valley is really progressing. Stand out show of the night was Edinburg High School, it was really excellent. All the bands did a really good job. Look forward to seeing you guys at Pigskin. Quote
jr520c Posted October 18, 2006 Posted October 18, 2006 I'm glad to hear that the valley is advancing, we've been behind the rest of the state for a while. I haven't had a chance to see many other bands. I did get to see Harlingen South at the South vs. Hanna game. It was pretty early in the season so it's hard to base anything off of that performance. I live in Brownsville and I have only seen Hanna and Pace. umdebaba, how are the bands that you've seen? Anyone stand out yet besides Edinburg? Quote
umdebaba Posted October 19, 2006 Author Posted October 19, 2006 I haven't gotten to see many bands but stand outs so far are Edinburg, Harlingen High School, Donna, Hidalgo, La Joya (very awesome guard too), McAllen High Can't really judge on the football games since I stand backfield and never hear the music well or see drill. From what I have heard Sharyland is doing really really well and are on the path to State. Quote
jr520c Posted October 19, 2006 Posted October 19, 2006 That's great. It seems like area G will be better than past years. I sure hope so. I think after Pigskin, I'll have a better idea of who to watch out for at area. I love being able to finally watch bands instead of being on the field (i do miss it, of course). We'll see how it goes. Quote
