amzorilla Posted October 24, 2006 Posted October 24, 2006 Who's pumped up for winter guard season? I love marching season, but when it gets down to the last few weeks, I just crave for winter guard to start. Quote
speedracerrox00 Posted October 26, 2006 Posted October 26, 2006 I'm all about marching season, and it's my senior year. So I'm getting kind of depressed about marching season only having a couple weeks left. Quote
amzorilla Posted October 26, 2006 Author Posted October 26, 2006 it's my senior year too... it's just guard rarely gets any recognition in marching season. well recognition specifically to us. so it's a long 5 or 6 month haul or so with maybe one or two contests that give out an award for the guard only. i was said about it being my last season at the beginning... but as long as i give it my all every performance, i don't get depressed about it anymore. i don't want to regret a performance i'm just excited to see what all the guards are planning for this winter Quote
speedracerrox00 Posted October 27, 2006 Posted October 27, 2006 Ah, I guess we're just different like that... winter doesnt really interest me. Marching is my life haha Quote
crazyjakeup Posted October 27, 2006 Posted October 27, 2006 im a trumpet player who absolutly loves marching season. but this last year i helped out at all of our winter gaurds contest ( i helped pull the floor). before this i had little apriciation for the gaurd concept. all it was to me was just a bunch of girls swinging around flags riffels sabres and other wierd objects... as i started going to more contest i started to grasp the art and the beauty of the preformences. i began to recognise some local guards (ars nova, insignia, black gold etc.) and fell in love with the work. now dont start questioning my sexual prefreance, i have a lady-friend (who just so happens to be in gaurd) but i truely enjoy winter gaurd, and im looking foward to this upcomming season...
