Danpod Posted November 1, 2007 Posted November 1, 2007 I LOVE Westfield's show this year. You know you're creating great effect when you can make the audience feel uneasy. The last movement sounds like I am playing the 8th World in Super Mario 3! The euphonium soloist is fantastic, especially at the end. This show will be one of my favorites at San Antonio. Quote
manuel_pablo Posted November 3, 2007 Posted November 3, 2007 Westfield - USSBA State Championship - 10/27/2007 First performance of the new closer to an audience. I added in a BOA announcement where it's supposed to go. Part 1 - http://youtube.com/watch?v=Ll69l4_HDqY Part 2 - http://youtube.com/watch?v=Wz1XvuLtZBQ Quote

takigan Posted November 3, 2007 Posted November 3, 2007 Man I love old school breakbeats.....seemed ya'll's percussion arranger likes 'em too. It felt like there should have been one more power chord hit in the end though, the retransitioning from the final hits to the breakbeat should have culminated in the final chord, then a reinstatement to resolve the previous switch-offs from before....I felt like it was about to launch into another breakdown but that was actually the ending. Love the Nobuo Uematsu music......just wish people would choose some different stuff other than the Westfield '04/'05 lineup (FFX ballad was cool!). Quote
acsc1312 Posted November 3, 2007 Posted November 3, 2007 wow Brazoswood...When I first heard they were doing music from the Passion, I knew it would be "Ressurection." Wow, I can't wait to see tomorrow's finals...I really hope they do extremely well Quote
beachnutc2c Posted November 3, 2007 Posted November 3, 2007 here is the 2007 springtown show "The Four Seasons" unfortently the latest video i could find was taken during the fifth game of the year on september 28th. it includes everything but the last 7-8 sets of the show which are arguabley the best. several changes have been made since this video has been taken (primarily the trumpet player has the whole solo at the beginning, and the clairnet was removed. and the sets as mentioned earlier). if i can find a later video i will post it but this is the latest one to my current knowledge Quote

It was later released on one of those promotional albums as "Themes from The Passion." But "Resurrection" is a GREAT track! Quote

I like the sound of this band......they're loud and very clean sounding with no one sticking out that much. However, it's easier to concentrate on playing when the drill is that easy and the tempos are that slow.....not a bad thing at all, it's better to sound good and look crappy rather than look good and sound crappy.....and really they don't look crappy at all. My big complaint is just the tempos and the cheesy body movements. The transition into the breakdown section (aka. "Irrational Impulses" which was TOTALLY ripped from Westfield 2004....though I'm assuming the show arranger is either the same or the school bought the show from him) was too abrupt......and the body movements there were really cheesy and didn't fit the 'cool' techno theme at all. Glad to see another Nobuo Uematsu show....I've been looking forward to this show since its announcement, and it didn't disappoint. Good video. Quote
scl@connally Posted November 11, 2007 Posted November 11, 2007 Nothing from this year yet But last year's Grand Nationals performance in my signature. Quote

Really if you want to just see the design element watch the 1st one, if you want to be nitpicky about forms watch the 2nd, and if you want to just hear the sound, listen to the either the 2nd or 3rd (I can't decide which is better). Donezo Posted November 17, 2007 Posted November 17, 2007 Wow! Impressive work from The Woodlands. Can't wait to see it with professional audio. Quote
dtxtrmpt Posted November 19, 2007 Posted November 19, 2007 http://dhsgatorband.com/html/uil_state.html this was filmed by our band directors son, I think. Not great sound quality, but you can see our forms. Hows that for the bronze meadalist in 4A? Quote
