jayzala Posted October 30, 2006 Posted October 30, 2006 Check out Area C stuff http://www.uilregion3music.net/Area%20C%20...ults%202006.pdf UIL's fabulous totally accurate judging system at its best. Check out Philip Geiger in Finals. Maybe hes trying to screw up UIL so he can get everyone else to pull out of UIL like Westfield did. Look at Berkner, when there is difference of 6 rankings for one band with only 10 bands total. There has to be a problem. Quote
Xenon Posted October 30, 2006 Posted October 30, 2006 Yeah, it looks like Geiger was just all over the place compared to the other judges who were pretty consistent. (Except for Randy Bartlett in Finals giving Berkner a 1st while the other two music judges had them in 5th and 6th.) But that isn't necessarily a problem with the system, it is a problem with the judges. And whenever I see inconsistent judging it is almost always the judges that have shown over and over again that they either don't like or don't know the UIL/TMAA judging system and ideals. Quote
Tbone9901 Posted October 30, 2006 Posted October 30, 2006 It was worse for us(judson) in area D...we got 27th place from one of the music judges because he said our show(once upon a time in graceland) wasnt a serious show for UIL. He said the music was too gimmicky Quote
Mexie Posted October 30, 2006 Posted October 30, 2006 Everyone else was saying that he put that our music was too immature... what kind of judges are they getting for these events? Quote
Jumunji Posted October 31, 2006 Posted October 31, 2006 This brings to question why a person who has pulled out of UIL is judging a UIL sponsored event...If you really don't believe in the system then stay out of it Quote
whitewing09 Posted July 19, 2007 Posted July 19, 2007 i think its stupid when they say the music is too easy, cuz it should be more about cleanest, and the hardness of the show should only be consider if theres two bands who are exactly the same cleaness and they need something to break the little tie Quote
