Tnilli Posted October 30, 2006 Posted October 30, 2006 darn springs early performance time...jesus block 2 looks killer. Quote
jr520c Posted October 30, 2006 Author Posted October 30, 2006 It's looks like a pretty well balanced schedule to me. It's going to be an amazing contest! Quote
n3rdu5 Posted October 30, 2006 Posted October 30, 2006 I caaan't wait for this!! I'm hoping that with our early time, we'll able to watch LOTS of bands. Eeeeee. Quote
Serardian Posted October 30, 2006 Posted October 30, 2006 darn springs early performance time...jesus block 2 looks killer. Not just Block 2. I could easily see at least FOUR finalists from EVERY single block. Amazing. Quote
Xenon Posted October 30, 2006 Posted October 30, 2006 Yeah, this schedule has a lot of parity in every block. Quote
Band_Freak Posted October 30, 2006 Posted October 30, 2006 That 1st Block is ALMOST reason to wake up and get down to the dome early. Quote
MRS. IaN KiNSLeR Posted October 30, 2006 Posted October 30, 2006 i wish i could be there the WHOLE day. stinkin' class... at least i get out at twelve, lol. Quote
jr520c Posted October 30, 2006 Author Posted October 30, 2006 If Marcus and L.D. Bell were in the first block, I'd be there at 6AM waiting to get in. Either way, I'm probably still going to be there at 6AM waiting to get in Quote
MRS. IaN KiNSLeR Posted October 30, 2006 Posted October 30, 2006 i'll just watch marcus and bell in finals, assuming they both make it, lol. i'd have to leave huntsville at like 2am to get there for that(6am)... if i wasn't going with someone i'd prolly do that though. haha <----------band geek, lol. Quote
Xenon Posted October 30, 2006 Posted October 30, 2006 That's why you drive in the day before and spend the night in San Antonio. Quote
MRS. IaN KiNSLeR Posted October 30, 2006 Posted October 30, 2006 yeah... i probably should still go to class though. even though i'd rather be at state all day. Quote
aggietrumpet327 Posted October 30, 2006 Posted October 30, 2006 Just looked at the UIL site (http://www.uil.utexas.edu/music/smbc_info2005.html) and it looks like they shuffled around the Area E bands a little. San Antonio: Taft 8:00 Cedar Park 8:15 The Woodlands 8:30 Carrollton: Hebron 8:45 Justin:Northwest 9:00 Harlingen South 9:15 Duncanville 9:30 Spring 9:45 BREAK El Paso:Americas 10:15 Lewisville:Marcus 10:30 Harlingen 10:45 Sugar Land:Austin 11:00 Klein 11:15 San Antonio:Reagan 11:30 Coppell 11:45 N. Richland Hills:Richland 12:00 LUNCH Brownsville:Hanna 12:45 Friendswood:Clear Brook 1:00 Houston:Langham Creek 1:15 Rowlett 1:30 Haltom City:Haltom 1:45 Donna 2:00 Sugar Land:Clements 2:15 San Antonio:Churchill 2:30 BREAK Hurst:L.D.Bell 3:00 Clute:Brazoswood 3:15 Austin:Bowie 3:30 Richardson:Berkner 3:45 PSJA North 4:00 Keller 4:15 Austin:Akins 4:30 This contest just looks incredibly stacked. Then put all these bands under the UIL scoring system, and really anything could happen. This will be really exciting/interesting. Quote
baritone Posted October 30, 2006 Posted October 30, 2006 That schedule is off. Yours says SFA is in block 3, but on the UIL website they perform in the 2nd block. Quote
The Richland Trumpet Posted October 31, 2006 Posted October 31, 2006 Do you not draw for times? Correct me if i'm wrong. I love all the people on here who hype the other bands, it's fun. Good luck to everyone! Quote
trumpetman1288 Posted October 31, 2006 Posted October 31, 2006 This is a very well rounded schedule. There really is no block that seems more/less stacked than another. Best of luck to EVERYONE at that contest because any band that is fortunate enough to crawl out of that as a finalist deserves to be named as one of the state's best in perhaps the greatest state for marching band. Quote

Perhaps the greatest state? Sir...we all know Texas is THE state for marching band Quote
syclone1635 Posted October 31, 2006 Posted October 31, 2006 darn, I can't believe we drew second! Oh well, I guess it's just more motivation to be real good. Quote
MartinHorn Posted October 31, 2006 Posted October 31, 2006 I like how they spread the "good bands" (in quotations because obviously all the bands at state are good, but I mean bands like Marcus, Bell etc.) across the blocks, makes you wanna stay all day. I regret that I can't go. Quote
Serardian Posted October 31, 2006 Posted October 31, 2006 Yes, I think the band directors drew schedule times after Area finals on Saturday. Quote
jr520c Posted October 31, 2006 Author Posted October 31, 2006 I know it's 2 years later, but would anyone happen to have the 2004 prelims schedule? thanks Quote
MRS. IaN KiNSLeR Posted November 1, 2006 Posted November 1, 2006 yeah. i had a "di d dee" moment... and darn, it's been a while since high school, lol. Quote
