mbui Posted November 1, 2006 Posted November 1, 2006 BOA has posted the Prelims schedule for Grand Nationals. http://www.bands.org/public/events/regionals/06.info/gn.asp ----- Friday Prelims is killer. Wow. Quote

BowieTBMongoose Posted November 2, 2006 Posted November 2, 2006 ahhhh! why must they pit us texas bands against eachother? oh well, at least it will be like home. it will be nice to be around other texas bands, almost like a BOA San Antonio away from San Antonio Quote

itspjw Posted November 2, 2006 Posted November 2, 2006 I am going to watch and I am can't wait to see all the great bands. I am sure all of our great TX bands will represent us well! Quote

titancoaster Posted November 7, 2006 Posted November 7, 2006 So, who else is freaking out that GN is here on thursday!! Quote
itspjw Posted November 7, 2006 Posted November 7, 2006 Me!!!! Can't wait, can't wait, can't wait!!!! Quote
bariphonium Posted November 8, 2006 Posted November 8, 2006 Now the question arises; Can L.D. Bell do the impossible: Place in the top 3 at State and GN in the same year? Doing so would demonstrate that they can perform at the absolute best level in two distinct competative systems (UIL's more traditional system vs BOA's newer, more GE-based system). Personally, I think it's time the Eagle came back to Texas, and by an 8-hour band, no less. Quote
itsstephenyo Posted November 8, 2006 Posted November 8, 2006 I'm quite sure L. D. Bell has already proven themselves as being both BOA and UIL capable. 2 BOA Regional championships and 2nd at State. You can't ask for much more. Except a Grand National championship... Quote
hhsquadguy Posted November 8, 2006 Posted November 8, 2006 Really pulling for L.D. Bell at GN.....would be awesome for a band from Texas to win. Quote
bossman Posted November 8, 2006 Posted November 8, 2006 I Wanna C that Trophy back here again. So they can go ahead and realize where grand nationals should really be held Quote
titancoaster Posted November 9, 2006 Posted November 9, 2006 Can we get a woot woot for all texas bands competing at GN, escpecially the only one that goes thursday!!! Go Texas!!! Quote
itspjw Posted November 9, 2006 Posted November 9, 2006 Woot woot for all the Texas bands competing in Grand Nationals!!! Tomorrow morning I board an airplane for...you guessed it...Indianapolis! I get to go watch Grand Nationals! Unfortunately I will miss some of prelims, but I will get to see all of finals and semi-finals...Yay! Quote
MRS. IaN KiNSLeR Posted November 9, 2006 Posted November 9, 2006 yeah... the top five will be all texas bands. haha(i wish). good luck to bell, churchill, bowie, cypress falls, the woodlands... texas kicks a! Quote

You forget that six Texas bands are going (Connally included). I'm not saying we'll even make Finals, but we've made it thus far to Semis. Quote
MartinHorn Posted November 11, 2006 Posted November 11, 2006 Just as long as a Texas band brings it home. Quote
ikilledabird39 Posted November 11, 2006 Posted November 11, 2006 The Woodlands HS got 1st in semi. Then its Avon from IN, and then LD Bell got 3rd. This is crazy. Woodlands preforms in about an hour and a half. They have to go first. Quote

I could agree with that, though the general consensus is that Tarpon Springs is on fire. I wouldn't be surprised if they were top 3. Quote
