for our next wind ensemble concert(nov 15) we're playing 3 Persichetti's and then some march. maybe it's just the 'theme' of our concert, but i have no idea, lol.

so i was just wondering if Persichetti is something there can never be enough of... or if it's something that gets old?

There's never too much. Persichetti was such a prolific writer and impacted the band world in such a profound way that his pieces are timeless. I love Persichetti's music, most of all Symphony for Band. Wow.

Churchill did that last year for UIL...every band had a piece by him.

It turned out well, I suppose, as a preview for the theme of this year's show, though at the time we were all sick of him...I'm not sure how perceptions have changed over the summer/fall.

we're playing it college wind ensemble, so i don't think a lot of the people that come will be too drained from hearing it...considering most of the people that come are involved(for the most part) with college or just music majors that aren't good enough to get in...

haha, i just looked at all the music one day and was like 'they're all by the same dude, lol'
