ClarinetGlissandoInBlue Posted November 3, 2006 Posted November 3, 2006 can't decide for you...lol but if i had a choice of staying in Houston vs moving to Austin, I'd stay for sure. good luck with ur decision Quote
trumpetman1288 Posted November 3, 2006 Posted November 3, 2006 That really is a toughy. Personally, I think you should worry more so about your grades than your band. While it is a temporary fix and being in a great band would be nice, your future should be priority. Best wishes to you and good luck with your decision! Quote
Skippy Posted November 3, 2006 Posted November 3, 2006 Don't let friends be much of an issue, because once you go to college, you aren't going to talk to any of them again anyways. (for the most part) The good ones, you'll keep in touch with, even if you move. Whatever you think is best for the future man. Quote
Silme Posted November 4, 2006 Posted November 4, 2006 I guess it really just depends on who you are. If making friends comes easily to you, and you could adjust to the change, you should consider it. If you're going to arrive at Akins and be miserable for the rest of your 2 years (sophomore right?), then you shouldn't do it. I guess it's a matter that whatever you do you have to fully commit to trying to make it work. I know it would be a very hard adjustment, but I think being content is a mindset. As for grades, being in the top 10 percent isn't as crucial as receiving an education that will prepare you for college (althought if that's the only way of getting accepted into a college for you, that's a different scenario). Oh well, I guess I don't really know exactly what your situation is, but I tried. Quote
