THAT WAS CRAZY!!!! was she on the left side? cause i faintly remember one of them actually reaching the wall, but i was too distracted by the others Quote
AndrewPCarr Posted November 5, 2006 Posted November 5, 2006 bell was indeed incredible from the get-go. such raw emotion displayed. i was one of the awe-struck finals' onlookers, and i can tell you there wasn't a sound being made in the audience by the end. i didn't know whether to stand up and applaud or soak it all in and let the moment just take me. amazing stuff. congrats to them. and i have to give a shout out to cedar park. i thought their sound was absolutely incredible. extremely pure, lush sounds coming from 'em. it was a great night all-around. It was amazing. that seriously blew me away. what a brilliant way to end the show. seriously, i was in awe. completely and utterly blown the heck away. Quote

I keep getting chills just thinking about it. Bell and Woodlands were the only bands to give me chills...simply amazing. Definately worth a $250 plane ticket Quote

n3rdu5 Posted November 5, 2006 Posted November 5, 2006 Holy crap. I want to see Bell's show, like, right now. No, seriously. Bell, come perform at my house! I'll give you guys cookies! Quote
DarkGuardNinja Posted November 5, 2006 Posted November 5, 2006 I was very impressed with Bell's show this year. It's certainly different than "Rapsody in Blue" from 04. We were next to them for finals retreat, and I enjoyed talking to them while waiting. I can't wait to see then at State, and I wish them the best at Grand Nationals. Those people are in the middle of one heck of a week (BOA San Antonio, State, Grand Nationals). I thought the The Remaining was amazing, and the guard perfomed so well. The bit where they hit the back wall was omg. I'm sort of sad that Bowie didn't make finals this year. I enjoyed their show, especially the guard. But I think they had a rough prelims, from what I saw. Regan's show was really good as well, but I didn't stick in my mind as well. Same with The Woodlands. All I remember is the 'trees' Lastly, all I can say is: Cedar Park, Move and Inspire! Quote
AndrewPCarr Posted November 6, 2006 Posted November 6, 2006 i too was surprised bowie did not make finals...as were many...hmmm Quote
MmCheezItsYay Posted November 6, 2006 Posted November 6, 2006 the way everyones talking about bell's show makes me mad that i havent seen it yet............... vgajl;kfjasd;lf! Quote
Serardian Posted November 6, 2006 Posted November 6, 2006 Me too! It's like that one movie all your friends have inside jokes about, and you don't know them because you were grounded and your parents wouldn't let you go see the movie with them, so you have no clue what they're talking about. Sorry if I sound bitter. Quote
BowieTBMongoose Posted November 6, 2006 Posted November 6, 2006 it is unconfirmed but at this time we were supposidly penalized enough points to keep us out of finals for not being able to clear our soundsystem off the field fast enough, when i know more i will let you guys know Quote
iplayband07 Posted November 6, 2006 Posted November 6, 2006 In prelims i was extremely impressed by L.D. Bell's show. I absolutely loved it. Performing that show would be so much fun In Finals, I didn't get the same effect. I already knew what was going to happen, so it just wasn't as exciting. I thought General Effect was definitely going to be theirs after watching them in prelims. We went insane when we won it instead. My favorite show that I saw in finals was Marcus. I could not get over how amazing their ensemble sound was. They sounded like a Wind Ensemble was sitting behind the pit playing. The crab stepping and visuals were so effective, and the sea horse race was so awesome. congrats to everyone! Quote

"We" being Marcus since they won GE i'm assuming, and you also somehow watched yourself perform in finals? Quote
RichlandTuba09 Posted November 6, 2006 Posted November 6, 2006 i cant believe marcus didnt win when they had two captons!!! What happened?!?!? Quote

Aegis Fang Posted November 6, 2006 Posted November 6, 2006 So I'll restate what I said in the other BOA SA thread. Cedar Park, you guys had THE BEST High School Brassline I've ever heard in my entire life. That seriously made my 21 dollars worth it, thank you =) Quote

itsstephenyo Posted November 6, 2006 Posted November 6, 2006 Cedar Park had a HUGE sound. Good lord, I was blown away in prelims when I heard them and even more so in finals. Literally, blown away (get it?). Quote
FastFrwrd Posted November 6, 2006 Posted November 6, 2006 ARGH! wish I could have seen finals. Bell SOUNDED magnificent (didn't get to see them, was down getting ready for retreat) and their drum majors are cool (so are reagans and hidalgos! Awesomeness!) Anyone planning on reviewing the whole show? I would cry from glee. Quote
pianomusicman89 Posted November 6, 2006 Posted November 6, 2006 man, i'm depressed that i can't see bell's show. i really want to. is there any other way to see it if you can't go to state or grand nationals. man, their show sounds amazing!!! Quote
syclone1635 Posted November 6, 2006 Posted November 6, 2006 Good luck to bowie at state, you guys definately could have done better, and i think you all know that. Your area performance was better than that one, so you have the potential to still do good at state. At least now you got a show in the dome before state. Quote
divastaracn Posted November 6, 2006 Posted November 6, 2006 What about Churchill??? I'm sorry but I didn't like Bell's show because everyone seems to be a critic... i will give them credit for their work i just think that the demented running around and dying a dozen times was weird not emotional but maybe that's just me. I think that churchill had a really good show even if it was aimed at a different audience. Quote
Danpod Posted November 6, 2006 Posted November 6, 2006 divastaracn said: What about Churchill???I'm sorry but I didn't like Bell's show! I thought that it was redundant and somewhat dare i say it dumb?! i don't think that the guard crawling around on the ground makes them a good guard like I've heard everyone else say... but maybe that's just me. I think that churchill had a really good show even if it was aimed at a different audience. the guard was really good. You're right. It's not the crawling that makes them good. It's the flag and rifle work. Dumb?????? You're entitled to your opinion but holy crap, a simple "I didn't like it" would have done just fine. Quote
