Everyone else just flip-flopped a place or two. Does anyone know how they break ties? (Ex: Cedar Park & Clear Brook? I'm guessing it's GE since Clear Brook had the higher GE Total). I wonder what the Marcus penalties were for. Bowie was over a point and a half out of finals, without any penalties. Not as close as I was expecting it to be. Surprised to see Judson so low, even though none of the bands they beat at BOA Houston attended San Antonio except Klein. Quote
HHSBass09 Posted November 6, 2006 Posted November 6, 2006 22) The Colony - 81.0023) Harlingen South - 74.85 24) Coronado - 79.85 Whoa....Whats with the random 74.85 score...That must be a typo right? Quote
bossman Posted November 6, 2006 Posted November 6, 2006 Man...that waz pretty tight competition Quote
itsstephenyo Posted November 6, 2006 Posted November 6, 2006 Yes, in the event of a tie, highest GE score gets the higher spot. It happened at Arlington between Coppell and Richland. Wow, Hebron had the second highest Visual Ge score of prelims with 19.30, behind The Woodlands with 19.50. I didn't expect to see Cedar Park down at 12th in prelims, though I am not surprised to see them jump four places in finals. They really turned it on in finals. Everything else looks pretty good, though. Quote
itsstephenyo Posted November 6, 2006 Posted November 6, 2006 Whoa....Whats with the random 74.85 score...That must be a typo right? Yea, it's a typo. Harlingen South scored a 79.85 as well. Quote
HHSBass09 Posted November 6, 2006 Posted November 6, 2006 Yea, it's a typo. Harlingen South scored a 79.85 as well. Thank You. Quote
itsstephenyo Posted November 6, 2006 Posted November 6, 2006 Geez, in Prelims, there's only a 6.75 point spread from 12th to 1st. Finals changes to about an 8.5 spread, though 12th place score stayed similar at 88.15 to 88.25. Everyone just kicked it up in finals. Talk about an incredibly difficult competition. Quote
oh_snap44 Posted November 6, 2006 Posted November 6, 2006 4) Marcus - 93.30 (-0.5 in Penalties) I wonder what the Marcus penalties were for. I could be wrong, but as Marcus left the field, part of their "clam shells" didn't clear the endzone. They were busy trying to get the band into the stands for pictures and it didn't look like they noticed they were still in bounds. It wasn't by very much, but they were over the line. Quote
MRS. IaN KiNSLeR Posted November 6, 2006 Posted November 6, 2006 ugh... penalties. at least it didn't effect the placement. Quote

Trucks started unloading before their *designated time* I believe. I will never understand how they can penalize performance for a logistical error; doesn't seem fair to the kids at all. Quote
Serardian Posted November 6, 2006 Author Posted November 6, 2006 I agree, most penalties are so ridiculous. But rules are rules, I suppose. Sorry about the typo, it's fixed. Quote
MartinHorn Posted November 7, 2006 Posted November 7, 2006 Marcus almost got penalized at Area I believe. Cleared the field with 6 seconds left. Quote
ClarinetGlissandoInBlue Posted November 7, 2006 Posted November 7, 2006 wow, a very tight contest. the woodlands beating reagan by 0.1? i didnt think that they were that good. maybe they cleaned up a lot since area ps, im not knocking the woodlands, just saying an opinion Quote

If you did, you would see why TWHS beat Reagan. Quote
ClarinetGlissandoInBlue Posted November 7, 2006 Posted November 7, 2006 Umm did you see The Woodlands and Reagan? If you did, you would see why TWHS beat Reagan. i saw the woodlands at area, but i havent seen reagan this year. *shrug, i guess i expected reagan to perform better than TWHS - i thought the woodlands' show had some cool parts, but i prefer bands with minimal props / distractions depends on personal taste Quote
chickora Posted November 7, 2006 Posted November 7, 2006 Wow what a change in results. That's amazing stuff there... Quote
